Great ball, this is one of the reasons he has to play in epl where it is possible to showcase his talent like that. In la liga he can only dream about them. See how much spread out the opposition is, you rarely find that in teams playing against barca. So happy that he is doing well but i have zero regret that we sold him, it was the best decision for all parties involved.

Or maybe, just maybe, the EPL fits him better.

Before saying that selling him was a mistake, let's see what kind of performance he will show against RM or Barca or Bayern.

The "problem" that a lot people had with him was that he was a "half-season" player. That for some mysterious condition he'd stop performing during the second half of the season.

At least they'll keep quiet if Cesc keeps it up.

Nothing will change that he was a half season player during his time with Barça.
Even the club acknowledged that, with that unfortunate and unnecessary piece on the official site.

Almost every Barca player got worse in the second half those seasons except maybe Messi.

What changed in the second half of all those seasons was that Cesc was never given a place ahead of Xavi/Iniesta. The team always reverted back to those two players and a style that fitted them.

No manager had the balls to bench Xavi/Iniesta when it came to crunch in second part of season.

Even for all that Cesc in the second half of the season was the second most productive player in the team in terms of goals and assists.

As Suarez said - defenders aren't that technically good and defenses aren't that tight and organized in EPL as in La Liga so anwser the question yourself where's easier to shine as an attacking player.

Give it a rest. Throw Cesc in that Real Madrid team and he'd be just as lethal.

Soldado has been a complete flop in the Premier League while Negredo wasn't much better. What's the reasoning for that?

When did Suarez say that?

Works both ways. Some players find England easier some find Spain easier.

There is little difference in the standard of defending overall.

I think that's just a coincidence to be honest.

Asked about the differences between defences in Spain and the Premier League, Suarez said: "In the Premier and at Liverpool teams rarely close up shop. You always have space to move in, in which to take on opponents.

"The defenders are strong, quicker, more corpulent… I was used to them. Here they are more skilful, they complement each other and play tighter together. They know how much danger Barça can cause and so it can be quite difficult sometimes”.

Suarez is saying the defences have different qualities not that Spain is much harder.

He was used to playing against EPL defences and is not yet used to Spanish ones sutting back with ten men against Barca.

You have totally changed his quote around and missed the part where he mentions the strengths of EPL defences.

It could be. But it happened.

It did happen but not for any mental or fitness issues but tactical ones.

It is quite easy to break down each of the three seasons and see what changed tactically for Cesc.

Not only Cesc almost all attacking players bar Messi were poor in second half of those seasons.

True, I just don't think it was entirely on the player. Otherwise, it must mean that Mou/Chelsea "fixed" him.

Either way, there's still people waiting/hoping for him to flop in Chelsea because of this "half-season player" label.

He won't flop, he's in his element now.
