To be fair, when he was younger and at Arsenal he was a great player and with plenty of potential to improve. He wasn't good enough at the time to compare to them, but I had high hopes for him when we signed him...since I really enjoyed watching him at Arsenal.

I however thought he had the talent to slot in a little deeper and control the game more in a Xavi type role (fitting for him since he lost most of his speed after all those injuries at Arsenal), apparently I was very wrong since none of the coaches allowed him to take that role. Easily the biggest disappointment as far as signings go for me- we wasted great years trying to force him into the team.
