Posters make up stuff so as to hate on Cesc. Funny but sad at the same time. Support your own players....

Cesc did nothing bad today, there should be no warranted hate against him for this. Of course he wasn't Messi, but who is?

The result was from a combination of shit luck (Masch injury, Messi injury, Ibra offside goal) and a lack of nerve and true focus in defense.

Well at least he got Beckham's shirt.:hooray:

They probably know each other from before. He trained with him for a while, when Beckham was keeping his fitness up during MLS off-season.

Cesc was alright, he did what he was supposed to do... He holds on to the ball a little too much to my liking, but surely he didn't suck, he was good...

It's true. Cesc made himself available for passes whereas Villa didn't really. And it's strange because David Villa is a big game player.

David Villa didn't play well since AC Milan's game. He wasn't at his level against France... and today, he didn't perform , specially in the second half (when Messi wasn't on the pitch), did he ?

He was good. Misplaces passes quite a bit but I would say the whole team was either misplacing passes or losing the ball off the dribble. Even Messi was dispossessed more than once tonight.

Could only assume at Camp Nou that this will be a different team.

Cesc did well. Barca have the advantage for the second leg so they'll play Cesc as the false 9 rather than go for the defensively weaker front 3.

I've read a statistic saying Messi is the most dispossessed player in the Barca team.

Only Iniesta comes close to him in that regard. Quite obvious considering how many dribbles both of them go on. Somebody in the team has to force things.

The thing with Cesc is that his dribbles go nowhere. It's definitely not his strength. The worrying thing is that he's been losing the ball with stupid touches and passes (due to lack of awareness) far more frequently nowadays. His saving grace is that he pulls off some really awesome passes out of nowhere.

He's a big liability in tight spaces...As long as he isn't expected to carry the midfield and instead play between the lines of the midfield and trident, he can play to his strengths
