That face says it all. When he hasn't scored in a while you can tell he was really holding his breath on that one.

His "celebration" of that first goal reminded me a lot of the celebration of his goal against Ireland at the EC last summer. He looked more annoyed than happy.

Cesc is one of the best players in the world, possibly the best midfielder in the world (I reckon it's between him and Iniesta). His stats throughout his career are remarkable, they speak for him. On the pitch his skills are unparallelled.

Every Barcelona fan I've spoken to (from around the world) have always spoke highly about Cesc. It's strange some people on Barcaforum dislike him.

I think that Cesc is a top 5 midfielder in the world FOR SURE, especially playing at his peak. When I used to watch him at Arsenal I used to always think that this guy is one of the BEST... just his presence, how he sees the game, how he moves, his skill, his vision, his perfect passing... when he is on point he can be great. Seeing him at Arsenal and playing in the Euro's 2008 and world cup gave me a lot of respect for Cesc.

He has the spirit and mentality of a leader in him... that's what I like about Cesc. He is capable of stepping up when needed to as he has proved many times, even in recent times. If he starts to stabilize his peak more and more as he gets older like Iniesta and Xavi did, I feel very confident with Cesc leading our midfield once Xavi and Iniesta are on their way out. A lot of potential with Cesc.

Much love brotha :cesc:

Dont exaggerate, hes not nearly as good as Iniesta and Xavi, and theres others that are better aswell.

Good 3 goals, but the defence was the worst ive seen in LaLiga this year. One game against a defence like that doesnt turn me around.

Do you guys think Cesc and/or Alexis earned themselves a starting spot for PSG?

As much as I've criticized Alexis, I think he should start ahead of Pedro. As for Cesc; I just don't see where he can fit in if Messi is back.

If Messi isn't back, I am less scared about Cesc playing as a false 9 after his performance today. All in all, even if either of them don't start, it's good that we have 2 really useful substitute options who have the momentum of form on their side.

Cesc was great. He's not as explosive as Messi, but he has a much higher workrate and movement off the ball. This helped make the passing game more fluid so the absense of Messi didn't detract from the team as a whole as much as some people think it would. Cesc as a false 9 and Messi on the wing would work great, you'd just need good movement and runs on the other wing.
