Lyon SHOULD win the group because they are playing the Romanians but knowing Rafa and the fact that Liverpool plays Arseanal the weekend after I could see them fielding a weak squad, Fiorentina will be playing for the draw at best but if they steal a win there it would be awesome, I would like to see la Viola fight to finish the group stage with the most goals.

For me you find out when you are a big club in the bad times, not the good. When you don't play in the Champions League but you are still talked about in it. When you get beat, and many laugh. And of course the test of any big club = when more people in this world hate you than love you. Indifference is the worst thing that can be thought of your club by all other football fans.

the only reason vargas to madrid wouldn't make me shit my pants is they'd play him at LB and he's not a defensive stalwart. but played in midfield he's just ridiculous. as much as I'm glad argentina are at the world cup, I so wanted vargas' 50 yard missile to go in.

Vargas isn't just a poor defensive LB, he's a poor LB period. He can't be as wild as a defender and everything from his crossing skill to his movement suffers because of it, that experiment ended in a disaster. He kicks major ass as a left winger however.
