Lille won comfortably 2-0 last yeAr in 22 November which is theoretically the worst possible time to play there. It was against Cska not spartan but cska are probably better than spartan (and it's the stadiums effect were discussing here)

I watched the game myself could have been 4-0 easily. There re probably further examples but I think his proves the point. Lille are much worse than barca and play in a hotter country than russia

If little Lille could do it, I guess we're up for the task. However, Spartak is a way better team than CSKA Moskva, even though they're on even points currently in the league. Thus, I believe Spartak to prove a more difficult opponent to Barça than the army club.

Besides, god knows what will 20th of November look like this year. By the looks of it, it might be a cold winter in Russia this year.

And the same year CSKA virtually matched Inter. Every game is different.

For what it's worth Spartak was crushed by good sides last time they played in the CL. Since then they've spent considerable money on foreign talent, and brought in Unai Emery as manager - the same Unai Emery whose tactics would cause Barca trouble.

On the other hand Celtic is rather mediocre right now as they have no competition in Scotland, and their manager is tactically mediocre.

So group of death again... well i like the group i really want to see what's City is all about.. it will be one hell of a game so is the game vs Dortmund (disregarding their poor showing last year sure they gained experience ) ... Ajax i think will be the weakest

You just need to look at some of the names Spartak has to see why they are scarier than Celtic. They spent considerable money this summer, and if anyone knows how to play Barca, it's Emery.

I never said Celtic would win , infact they will lose in my opinion but I do think it's potentially a trickier away game. The inter example holds no weight. Inter have been terrible the past two seasons, getting knocked out by marseille last year and failing in serie a

With respect to Spartak.. Their squad shouldn't cause problems, but emery is a good tactician so that could would be the difference if they won, which I don't think they will

 The arrogance is hilarious.

This isn't a easy group at all. Celtic have built a good team of young players, Spartak and Benfica are very good teams as well. Barca will qualify but anyone expecting to walk it will be surprised.

Let's be honest. It's one of the easiest groups we could have gotten. Nobody is expecting a walk in the park, the important thing is to qualify as first. The real CL starts in February

This group should be very entertaining. It will be interesting to see which team starts getting the hang of CL play earlier, Man City or Dortmund. RM is built for CL, I can't see them failing to win this group.

Indeed, Nolan.

They've strengthened their team significantly over the summer. Thus, Spartak does look as a formidable opponent. Pareja, Insurralde, Kallström, Carioca, Romulo, Emenike etc. do look good. Would be interesting to see Spartak's starting 11.

Spartak dont pose a threat to us, only the long trip to Moscow does.

We have the more experience naturally however City bench is one of the best in Europe if not the best at all... i don't know how they fair as last year is not something to judge them for.. now they have the EPL under their wing , Aguero found his form with them.. it will be very tricky i cannot guarantee how will win

as for Dortmund we continue to be crap vs German teams .. our record in Germany is disastrous , last year CL crash was no exception
