On the most important note, I can't comprehend Pep's cautious approach tonight.
It's as if he instructed them to lower intensity in everything they do so as to gain something.
Madrid didn't create chances, but City didn't either with that approach

Hope it's the 'away' performance, and expecting a much better home performance in the 2nd leg

Two reasons:
Energy conservation for the league and second leg.
Pep wants City to peak at the right time. City tend to peak way too early in a CL tie which is detrimental to their gameplan. So Pep wants them to peak in the second leg and progress.

City played cautious as got caught out several times on break in first half. Not surprising they've not played all out away from home as don't have enough talent or experience to do that consistently

Grealish is fucking useless
Nah they played cautious in the 1st half as well
and with subpar intensity

City been like that in most away games and Real were not full throttle either.

Supposedly it was roasting hot in the stadium.

Maybe played into slower pace.

Although strange no subs when players like Silva and Gundo looked knackered.

Wait, xDominance is a thing now? I thought we counted goals and stuff.
Lol 🤣.

Good one, but yea we do, it's the whole package bro.

Madrid just does the quick counter thing, Barcelona played them off the park, took their souls.

Big fan of Grealish. Had an average game today though.

Will play well in the second leg.

Also unpopular opinion: he pulls off the hairband and low socks look like no one else.

the xG shotmap gives only 1 big chance for both teams -> Benzema's header
which was offside and would have been VARed off, so it shouldn't count

On the other hand, they don't include KdB's 1v1 with Courtois that would have been VARed on, as it was not offside

So City had the only big chance of the game

Even if he is doing "well" for them this year, i just don't understand what City needs him for.

Superfluous signing as far as i can tell.

Glorified friendly is now the benchmark.

We would have got trashed by both teams in the game tonight.
Nah you lot wouldn't get this far in the CL at all. Would get spanked by a side like Napoli because your coach is a clown. You have a great squad though. The Catalan Ole ain't getting the best outta your squad though.
