From what I read and see, Chelsea played well in Dortmund despite the loss

Would be a very interesting return leg

Dortmund played the same kind of game as last year versus City. Chelsea came back well in the second, should have scored really. Chelsea will go through if Dortmund play the second leg how they ended this one. If they show some ambition though, then who knows.

Dortmund did really well vs Chelsea, but after the 1-0 they stopped playing all together and it's basically all thanks to Kobel that the game ended with a win. Can't play for a 1 goal lead with 30 minutes in a CL knockout, that's harakiri even if it worked out.

Enzo defending on that goal... jeepers.

He hasnt looked all that mobile so far at Chelsea.

He's not a holding DM imo. Would be a killer box-to-box midfielder.

That said, not much he could do against a much faster player 1v1 in absolute tons of space. Adeyemi is the fastest player in Bundesliga history statistically

Enzo was ass that evening, but the goal is the last thing he should be blamed for. Defending in full sprint while running backwards and one wrong tackle and it's a red card, you'd need prime Maldini to salvage something out of that situation. Simply speaking he should've not been left alone to defend the whole counter. Also to make things worse Adeyemi also did that perfectly, he set no foot wrong, it was hardly defendable at least not the way Chelsea was set up.

Went past him too easily.

Didnt go in to wn ball back or back off enough just to try and slow him down.

He has been getting dribbled past a fair few time for Chelsea so far.

Shouldnt have been left back at the corner really. There are players that could cope with that situation better.

Kroos and Tchou both out of the squad for tonight's game.

What matters is that VVD is back which will be a huge boost to Liverpool's defence. They beat a strong Newcastle side during the weekend which was unbeaten at home until that match.
I think that Liverpool will be very dangerous in the CL since that's the only way to win silverware this season. Plus, top 4 is not guaranteed so winning the CL would automatically qualify them for the competition next season.
