PSG would be tricky due to them having individual players who can create and dribble through us and create havoc.

City on the other hand don't have the players that would worry us nor the defence and midfield to contain us.
We are over relying on our attack producing. Can't control a game to save our lives. Shit in defense and at GK. So anything can happen, no sure thing we beating them.

Someone tell Pep that Pride and Gluttony are deadly sins. He's done enough, won enough.

For god's sake walk away from that job in the summer. I'm not sure even spending half a billion can save them medium-term. Those players probably need a new voice.
I don't feel like Pep is going to throw the towel. Unlike the Pep of 2010-12 Barca, he has full control and confidence from Man City board. His tactics aren't outdated, but some of the players are.

Pep will look to rebuild the squad in the following years. He doesn't have this "time to focus on my family and do paintings" thing. Football is mostly there is.

You're welcome
I still fail to see the calamity. It’s Pep’s first “disaster” season in all of career. Agree that his next challenge should be fixing this squad.

You can try out how table will look depending on results. Interesting imo is whether Madrid misses out on top 8 or not. Bayern and Dortmund losses yesterday were in their favour.

Bayer, Atleti, Milan and Dortmund would have to self-sabotage to miss out

Bayern losing next game would also be in their favour if Madrid win big, would give them a lower seed and help avoid Liverpool/Barca in bracket

Seems like the new format increases the possibility of teams losing/drawing games on purpose? Like it happens in international tournaments.

I think it's impossible in practice since all teams play last game at same time. There are way too many outcomes and table will change every minute.

The only game that can be 'rigged' is PSG v Stuttgart because a draw means both get through. They will most likely face a tough playoff opponent if they don't win however, so pick your poison.

It only does because bracket is predetermined
We knew from starters the top2 are split into each half so on and so on
Was always 'rigged' to favour teams more likely to finish higher ensuring they are more unlikely to meet each other until later in the comp

The only reason people find this here and now quite attractive is because some teams are clearly underperforming and fallen into 9-16th rather than top8
And because it's genuinely tough to see how the entire table of 24 will look while 6th week of CL would normally be dead rubber games

And you're often going to get that, richest teams won't always play to standard. Just that the format is basically going to be a bore with uncertainty that goes with draw element removed as the rich teams have been pining for

It isn't 'easier to predict' in the sense that there are still lots of permutations.

But it also is because Bayern know what result they need to be more likely to avoid meeting Liverpool or Barca. It's still a dice roll given its not just dependent on them but those around them, but let's face it, how likely is it that RM isn't gonna beat Brest or Atleti/Bayer/BVB/Milan not going for a win to secure top8 lol
