As for tonights game, typical Madrid. It was a battle of two A tier sides playing with C tier football. And like everytime that Ancelotti beats Pep, it required individual runs and errors to be the difference.

We can moan about Madrid in CL and their opponents non stop, ultimately it's on us to improve in this competition and beat the best teams.

You must know Madrid finished the CL groups many times on 2nd place, and then went on and won the competition. CL knockouts is the actual start of the competition for the big teams.

Personally think their squad isn't good enough no matter if its August, December or April. Not enough creativity in midfield, defence is shockingly thin. Other years they finished 2nd but didn't have a makeshift defence or a 40 year old to bring on as the first option of the bench.

More likely to see a 18/19 Madrid in a knockout than the miracles of 2022 or the grit of 2024 in my opinion. Feel free to pull me up on this come May though.

Teams show Madrid respect. Even this weekend, Atletico bottled most of their chances and didn’t even squeeze a shot out of their many counters.

Real would’ve won that match more often than not.

They’re a serious contender imo, despite the form.
