Barça have too much in midfield for United, it really doesn't matter who they play there, we will own the ball as per usual.

oh Yes, this must become "USUAL SONG" to Manure by Now.
We say when to jump, they MUST just listen. Like to all others.
LoL

You're becoming too technical in these last few days! Im just talking about penalty saves in general, which is what Quash was talking about.

Quash

Ricky Martin clone
:laugh:All's good lads  Ricardo was a penalty machine ... I remember he also scored the one that knocked England out of the Euros ... that was a good day.

:D Good answer. Although that proves my point exactly. This was Barca's first CL win and they were consumed by fear, the result was everything and that contributed to a terrible game (great result mind). I just think that teams owe it to the supporters to go out and entertain, that is what football is....ENTERTAINMENT. It is not about results, that should be the icing on the cake. Football should be an expression of the culture of your city/region. If you are happy to fund the wages of your players and accept that shit style of football that get's churned out week in and week out in the EPL then fair enough, it is your choice.
I have to say though, that I do agree with you that Man Utd do try and play the game properly and that is why I would be gutted if you just played for the result rather than for the people. You should win anyway, so why not try and win with style?

Owned by the people, for the people...not by a bunch of business men from the USA.
in all honesty i agree completely but was trying to be realistic about how the majority see it.

and though it was nearly 30 years ago,it's only 2 managers ago, dave sexton was sacked at united because of his style of football (winning tophies or not, which we weren't btw) and there's,as you say, thankfully an atempt to "play well football" at united that's been passed down from sir matt busby, including the tommy docherty team in the 70s which was when i started going to matches, some of ron atkinsons football, and carried on by SAF.
Combine mine and Incog's post and you have what I was trying to say but failed
i got the gist of both and don't disagree with either of you. :)

English clubs will never understand or care for beautiful football like those at FCB do.....
a bit of a generalisation, read about sir matt busby sometime.

and i still maintain that defending can be entertainment too you know, and i accept that THAT might be an english state of mind, but i wouldn't remember names like moore, beckenbauer, baresi, maldini and the myriad of other defensive greats if they hadn't been so good at playing this "offensive" defensive football that so irks the artisans who want nothing but to gently deride them,or tell them that their part in any victory is wallpaper and superfluous, because it's the attack (where i'm guessing all the entertainment comes into it :hmmm:) that matters.

btw, peter schmeichel, one of the singlemost entertaining players i've ever seen, because sometimes watching supreme quality at anything is entertainment,it's surely just appreciating it for what it is,and can only be.

just wish he'd played in the nou camp insead of gary walsh that night!! :$

Sorry, I should have phrased my post differently. I understand some English clubs, Manchester United included, have some history of beautiful football. I just feel that it means more to our club & its fans :flagvl8:

barca will win this match ... c.ronaldo won't do anything (exept a free kick on valdes:p) ... messi will pass on 3 players of united and give an assist to etoo .... we go into extra time ... ronney scores .... then henry equalizes .... then 2nd extra time nth much in it ... then we go into penalty kicks ... valdes rescues ronaldo's shot (and make him depressed like cech did) then we will win the cl and be the best in europe and the world fo so' ..... !!!! (this is what i predict:p)

We've won the Premier league. This means, we can rest our players against Hull and focus on the CL final.
