Champions League

United have never quite had the CL DNA as a club. Always seem to crumble with a whimper in the elite stage.

That’s true. Even in the Fergie era they loved an early exit fairly frequently. 2008 onwards they had a 3-4 period where they regularly made semi/final but generally underperformed a lot.

Was very close to happening. Ajax just didn't went in for the kill after making it 1-2, which was really surprising, especially since they could and should have, Benfica was well on for the taking. But right after Benfica managed to equalize, it was clear this was gonna be a tight tie until the end.

I didn?t watch most of the game, how did Mazraoui do?

The little bit of the first half I watched, he was kind of all over the place, sometimes drifting in the midfield, quite offensive minded. How did he do defending-wise?

Someone give a raise to the camera man, as he did a close up on Penaldo exactly moments before and as the referee announced the end of the game.:lol::lol:

Good result for La Liga and us. At least Atletico will have two more games to worry about in the CL, and hopefully grabbed some of the Spanish CL money slotted for Madrid.

Messi vindicated.

Maybe La Liga is back?

La liga would be back big time as soon as the clubs, academies, coaches and players match the intensity of other leagues/top clubs. Then its a one way street, because talent is in la liga, its laughable how poor ball control those fuckers have

Not about that really. They don't have the budgets and players to compete with EPL right now.

EPL has 6 teams valued at over 1 billion.

The 6 most valuable Premier League clubs — Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham — are worth a combined ~$22 billion, while the remaining 14 clubs are worth less than $4 billion combined.

The talent in La Liga outwith top four is lacking big time and when compare top four directly still more in EPL but can change quickly if Barca/Real get there teams together and when Klopp/Pep leave.
