Napoli drew vs. Pool in Liverpool and did not lose in CL group with Pool, Salzburg and Genk, so a tough test.

They drew away at Genk (who are languishing the Belgian league) they drew at home to an energy drink, they are losing left, right and center in Italy. Their only saving grace is doing well against Pool. Other than that, they have been abysmal.

barca 95 ?

Yes. I have never been as confident of progressing from a CL tie as I am on this one. Even when we had the most awesome team ever assembled. I think that the team will be super-focused after back-to-back humiliations. It's a golden chance for us to progress easily to the last 8, where some big teams will be missing.

So: QF-QF-QF-R16 for genius Pep.

Can't wait.

My thoughts exactly.
I will be looking forward to excuses regarding Pep and City.

I can put my money on some:
Those were individual errors by his players.
Not Pep's fault. (Yet when Mats, Raki, Pique or Alba make mistakes, that is EV's fault )
His team had injuries.
Not Pep's fault. (Even though he planned his team, got all the money in the world and was free to pick every single transfer target for his team).

Our record vs Italian teams in KO stages is not good. Rome, Juve and heck even first Milan game comes to mind which we lost 2-0.. Expect tough game in Napoli.

No.
Historically, we have problems with prime Italian teams like Milan and Juve in 90s and 00s.
And Inter (when they had Mou).

Against other, Mickey Mouse Italian teams, we will smash them easily.
The only defeat ever to a smaller Italian team was Roma in 2018, but even then Roma played in a CL for 15-20 seasons in a row and they had some quality and experience (and luck).

Napoli is a Mickey Mouse club who was terrorized in a preseason by a mighty Alena-Roberto-Frenkie midfield (without Messi-Suarez on a field).
Let that sink in.

barca 95 ?

More like 99:1%.

I will have to agree with BBZ on this one. He is 100% sensible here.

Keep in mind that Barca has not been good in Italy. I'd take a draw in the first leg, then Napoli will be slaughtered in Camp Nou.

It was preseason, dawg. This isn't the mighty Barca of 08-12 or 14-15.

Even if Napoli are bums, they still have players who run a lot and you just know this grandpa midfield aside from FDJ won't be able to cope with the early press in Naples.

Happened in Turin in 16/17. Happened last two seasons.

We should beat them far more often than not, hence the 70-30 or 80-20.

99-1 implies we beat them 99 times out of 100. Do you really think a team that struggles away v Liga teams can suddenly start dominating teams in Europe.

You mentioned Torino in 2017.
That is Juventus.
The biggest Italian team, CL oldtimer.

Napoli don't have experience in a CL as a team.
Their players individually don't have much quality or any World cup/CL top level experience.

With those kind of players, you are always one bad brainfart pass away from a disaster, everything going downhill fast and 0:5 defeats.

In one hand, City will lose from similar reasons.
Lack of a CL experience, plus of course, Pep being Pep.

We can lose only if we somehow lose 2:0 or 3:0 in the first game.
