I have no problem with Real going through. I will have a problem if they draw one of the easier teams.

That being said they are not that good and will ultimately have to play one of the top 4 teams who will beat them.

RM are not that good, but they won CLs being "not that good". Field is weak in Europe for a few years. Only Bayern is playing like a top team this year in CL.

With a lucky draw they can make the semis, but in the semis it will be very tough for them.

Just a look at the teams that went through. Porto, Dortmund, PSG, City, Liverpool. Madrid are favorites against 2 of these easily. 50-50 with PSG, and underdogs vs EPL sides.

Will be favorites vs Atletico/Chelsea as well. So... they have options at the draw if they avoid City, Liverpool and Bayern.

With the same luck and refereeing they had back in 2016-2018 they could reach semis even the final in some extraordinary cases. Surely they are much weaker now but they weren't so strong back than either... They weren't not nearly as strong as LFC 2019, Bayern 2020 or Barca 2009-2011 and 2015 but they still did the job in "the right circumstances" ofc.

Now RM are so bad that he is parking the bus to eliminate Atalanta, but who knows what can happen if they can reach semis

IMO they are out in quarters if they get Bayern, City or PSG.
So I hope they will get one of them

they had players in their prime back then + ronaldo. only zidane was "not that good" of a manager to keep up with barcelona in the league in most cases. otherwise individually they were just as good(on paper at least) as any team.
