Champions League

Good it's a joke of a system. Hopefully this means investors will look at smaller clubs and take them on if they're allowed to spend and actually challenge for things. Could mean the end of this super league talk if more money is spent throughout the league

super league is inevitable anyway. the CL group phase is a joke.

better to have a league format between the heavyweights than to watch an elite club obliterate the likes of ferencvaros or midtjylland.

The super league will ruin smaller clubs, it will be far harder to become an established "top" club. Stories like Leicester, Atalanta, Deportivo and etc. won't happen, or will but 100x less frequently. The league format between the heavyweights will also get old and tiring super fast. What's fun about watching the same fixtures again and again? The beauty of the CL is in the rarity of match-ups.

oh really? the beauty is to watch us pulverize some no-names? and to have mostly the same teams reaching the KOs each year?

money can be had in the secondary competition too. and stories like leicester, atalanta, deportivo are just stories because they play 1-2-3 seasons in the CL and that's it, see you in 5-10 years or maybe never again.

while people get a bit excited for some medium/small team, in the end the same big teams are reaching the later stages.

maybe the solution is allow less teams into the champions league. Agree group stage is a joke and nothing more than a beatdown from the top clubs

FFP is getting scrapped because of us lol. Under current rules we would be banned for the Champions league

At last, this sham will be put down. Ironically, a rule designed to make clubs more sustainable has to be scrapped during a time of crisis. Many had jumped the wagon while most of football history has been played without this scam. All because it would stop new rich clubs from taking glory over the usual winners.

It can be said it has done its job though. PSG and City owners are past the splurging phase now that they built a decent streams of revenues. Even with FFP relaxed or abolished, they won't just go spend 1 billion.

What about if Saudis comes lol

The end of FFP means Saudis are welcome to spend their petro-dollars against rivals on the European football theatre, which are the Qataris.

You just said City was an "easy draw" when Madrid faced them just last summer. Now Madrid is lucky for avoiding them? it's like opponents become "easy" the moment Madrid draws them or something. Insanity. Getting lucky is facing Porto or Dortmund, not fcking Liverpool.

And all you had to do was finish first. If you didn't lose 3-0 against Juve, you would've faced Porto and Chelsea.

You do understand jack about footbal, don't you? Have you ever watched PL? It's not about the names of the team but more of how they play in the current season where LFC is way weaker today than it used to be while City looks stronger, even though in CL that might not translate into winning the trophy it is still a indicator, one of the few.

And more importantly, in this particular subject we talk about Madrid, why do you even brought up Barca in a discussion about Madrid draws?

In Europe? I have a soft spot for Madrid and Milan. But I wouldn't call it "support".

But if we're discussing Bar?a vs Madrid, I'll admit to having a bias towards the latter.

Oooh, didn't know you were a rm fan, this finally makes sense
