Christian Eriksen

Really think he will go to Inter unless we or real come in last minute and make him an unrefuseable offer. Damn, why aren't we looking his way? We need cms, he is wc, cheap and EASYGOING personality.

Club must see him as a Coutinho player, but the guy is thrice the midfielder coutinho was. He can actually run, has played CM a lot of times... He is disciplined also.

Until Sergio gets kicked off Frenkie and him as CM and Sergio as Dm? What's the problem?
They wanna throw 400m for half a usefull player (Griez) but can't throw 20-25m gamble for a proven wc cm? And want to buy Olmo for 35-40 which is an even bigger gamble?

We don’t need him and he knows. The main way he’d be useful to rotate with his prototype Kroos is because he’s new, but novelty factor would quickly rub off.

And Barca aren’t going for him probably for simple reasons:
a) he’d clash with Messi cutting to the middle where Eriksen likes to operate in transitional space from #8 to #10
b) he’d curb development of Arthur, since he can’t play at RCM because you need someone to cover Messi

I think what’s most interesting about it is that it’s an active snub of Mourinho. The man has gone live on Sky saying Eriksen and Vertonghen should sign new deals. And they’re just saying no that straight up. In the past he’d find it very easy to have players like this say “wow of course I want to play under Mourinho”, it’d be enough regardless of circumstances. Jose’s not going to find it easy attracting names he could once snap his fingers to get.

In Eriksen case I highly doubt he would resign even if Klopp came. Management doesn't want to make the extra investments and even Poch pressing all the juice you can get out of that squad was only at Liverpool-rodgers-almost-level. The squad is lacking behind tradional champions in PL, and is lacking a real fucking lot compared to genius teams like City and especially Lfc. There is nothing to win in Spurs and the players know it.

Mourinho can't make players stay because he is managing a second rate club. But I guess that's because he has lost something with age, desire and dedication.

Antonio Conte has prioritised signing Arturo Vidal above Christian Eriksen. Inter have been heavily linked with the Danish international, but the Italian outlet are reporting Conte sees Vidal as a better option.

Oh, if only someone on this Board had a brain:

Vidal ---> Inter 20M
Eriksen ---> Barca 20M

Instead it's gonna be Eriksen ---> Inter 20M and Olmo ---> Barca 40M. Right now, we should just let the kid go for big money to Chelsea or United, who also want him, and Dinamo ZG know this, and since PL teams are involved, they're gonna keep holding out, hoping they can start a bidding war as the transfer window progresses, and Olmo himself is also valued the highest he's ever been right now. We shouldn't fall for it and get involved in this bidding war with the PL teams, as Olmo is not a player, worth all the fuss (yet). We can always bring him in a few years if he performs well in the PL, or even if he flops, if we still like him by then, he'll at least be cheaper in that case.

And we can't afford to be wasteful or get involved in bidding wars right now, before the summer we need to be smart, look for and take as many cut price deals as possible (on players, who are actually worth it too of course), and save as much money as possible until the summer to invest properly in other areas of the pitch (new CB or even two, possibly a new RB, a new #9, maybe even a new LW). So take the cut price deal, where you can get it, especially cause this one also might be the best one available on the market right now, and get a proven world class performer in Eriksen, who would for sure jump at the first chance to join us, and take care of the midfield for a lot less money we normally would.

As for Eriksen himself, if either Madrid or Barca make a move for him, I think he'll say yes to the first offer that comes his way, because he knows it's either that, or settle for Inter or some other club of similar stature, which would actually be a step down from Spurs (I guess Juve would be the only other club who wouldn't be a step down, but honestly it wouldn't be a step up either, especially since he's used to playing a tough league for years now). And he didn't refuse to sign a new deal with them for 2 years now (I suspect he's been planning this since 2018 at least) for a step down like this, especially when it's his last real chance of a BIG transfer, he knows he won't ever get a better deal than he can right now, since once he reaches 30, it's a whole other ball game, but not just in terms of a pay day, but also in terms of quality of a club. And Barca (and Madrid) have been his top two choices for a while now, he always wanted to play for one of them at some point in his career, there were news about this back in 2018 already, and that's why I think he always intended to refuse any extension at Spurs and hope either Barca or Madrid come for him, even if it does take for him to run his contract with Spurs down till the end, like he's seemingly gonna do now.

Board should try to sign Luis Alberto if they want a stop-gap creative midfielder, he's playing better than Eriksen ever did imo.
