Very, very happy about the result and I thought overall we played OK, not great, but OK considering how tired we are. The fatigue was so obvious that often we just couldn't keep up with their pace and when we had the ball we purposely slowed down the tempo.

And I must be one of very few who thought Arsenal played really well, given their quite a few chances that were either nullified thanks to MAtS or screwed up by themselves.

The game could have ended up 3:5 or something like that.

:barcascarf:

Fatigue is a great point and I totally agree. We looked dead tired and I wasn't even thinking about this Las Palmas game.. It was terrible for us to play on saturday and now face Arsenal. They had edge, because they played some FA CUP game vs Hull and played some garbage roster.

In fairness it was a better effort than dakt ? Water bottle vs Remote...... Remote always wins.

Ohhh, she is just soooo much better. Look at that radial spread and the depth of that hole.
Mine didn't even broke the front cover, "only" the panel behind it. Mine was a weak shoot, so I'm not worthy. :)

Good result although we will have to perform better as the tournament progresses because we're not really there yet. Some chances will be put away by better teams.

No idea why Lucho didn't make a single sub though. As if bringing on Roberto or Vidal would somehow change the course of the match

My thoughts also same...when busi asked for substitution and he denied i thought all subs are over....checked and came to know that all are available still he dont want to....i guess he dont want to lose any goal advantage.

Finally he is the boss :lucho:

The only team in Europe that is substantially better than Arsenal*, is Bayern Munich, and they give away chances as well.

Not saying there is no more room for improvement, but imo we have gone through the period of multiple games victorious. We have set unshakable foundations for CL qualification, reached the CdR final and extended a comfortable lead in La Liga. No we can go to some kind of conservation mode in some games here or there. It would be extremely helpful for us if we could get an easy draw for the QFs. The Clasico is only 3 days before the 1st leg of said QFs.

*I am not saying that there are no better teams in Europe than Arsenal except Barca & Bayern, but I am saying that Arsenal are not drastically worse than any of them, not by any stretch.

On another note, it's quite amusing to hear Arsenal fans claiming that they were hard done by the result last night. They claim they had "chances". Well yes, by this token, if both teams scored all their "chances" the score would have been 2-6 instead of 0-2.

Arsenal is drastically worse than Real Madrid, Bayern, Atlético, PSG, Juventus, just to name a few. I am not pessimistic about our form if that's what you think. There's no need for us to peak right now anyway. The fact that we've played so many games in the last 2 months also doesn't help.

Well, I will respectfully disagree with you. Real Madrid are definitely better than them, but not by a massive margin. As for Juventus, Atleti and PSG? I would doubt if those clubs are even marginally better than Arsenal.

Comparing Arsenal to those teams is somewhat pointless though. We seem to get into our game easier against teams that don't park buses.
I still think we can take on Real easily in the upcoming Clasico. I also think we stand well against PSG and Juve. Against Bayern we need some necessary rest in preparation for the game.
