Games like yesterday also show why Coutinho needs to play in midfield rather than upfront, because none of the current midfield can break through the lines. Continho can provide that.

But playing him outside in a 4-4-2 (much like is wrongly happening to Iniesta) will never get the best of him. He needs to play central in a 4-3-3.

Those little triangles that used to be created by the midfielders have disappeared under Valverde. The midfield just pass side to side now. Movement is poor, and the midfielders don’t have the ability to go past players either and make something unexpected happen.

OMG I can't get this nightmare out of my head... constantly reliving those moment ESP after the 3rd goal went in... how is Valverde still alive or the coach??? Shitttt

I think Barca has to change much, mostly for CL.
I love Don Andres, but he has shown he is not more the same Iniesta of some years ago.

Absurd! Three goals over and a team with class and experience like Barca has not been able to manage the vantage or to create at least one attempt in 90 min.!!!

Way of playing too slow...

Too bad that we can't even mock PSG anymore because we were eliminated by an even worse team despite having a 4-1 advantage in the 1st leg....

Cant believe that we handled someone a free ticket to the final:lol:(worst scenario its real madrid). I didnt expect anything this year so i am surprised we got la liga maybe copa and got so far in cl but like this against roma with a lead of 4-1 ?? Huge blow... Only some serious good scouting (which i doubt will happen with the current board) could help us to fix our problems and rise again. This squad is done and even if not now it will be soon considering the age of the squad....

It was hard getting up today. The only way this will make any sort of sense is if Valencia beat us at the weekend. How could we have been that poor for a whole 90 minutes. Need a new manager like pochetino who could bring Eriksen or maybe verrati with him seen as he has psg ties. Rakitic can stay and come on in games where we are a couple of goals up. Need griezmann badly to fight for Suarez position and I'm sure he'd play dembele. But most importantly he would have the team playing confident attacking football.

My full pre-match comment (try reading it before make snide backhanded remarks next time):

We aren't playing Bayern or Madrid here. This is Roma away with a 3 goal advantage in the first leg.

There is zero need to risk Busquets in a match like this and a few other players could be rested as well considering we have Valencia on the weekend and the sooner we wrap this title race up the better. We only need about 3 more wins.

We're F.C. Barcelona and they're A.S. Roma. No need to play defensive, just dominate possession and hit them on the counter when they push men forward which is inevitable considering their deficit in the tie. Dembele would be good for this.

The last thing we'd want to do is sit back and allow them to control the tempo of the match.

I asked to rest Busquets if he isn't 100% and maybe rest a Pique perhaps. That wasn't the main point of my post though.

Look at the bolded. Valverde did the exact opposite and look where we are now.

Maybe he should've taken my advice?

Still in awe over him not at least substituting Dembele on at the half way mark. When you see the ball Rakitic delivered for Dembele and you realize that it was a valve that was open for Barca to exploit all night long, I don't see how anyone can't be in a state of utter confusion at this managers decision.

Even if he's just there as a mere decoy to afford Messi the space to operate and keep Roma honest, as we saw in the 2nd leg against Chelsea. I blame the fans for gassing him up and making him arrogant enough to ignore the senior players advice (if it was anyone other than Pique) for a tactical change at half time.

Yeah and without Busquets the match would have even been worse. The reason Valverde doesn't rotate is because our bench players are absolutely terrible(especially in midfield).

We tried to dominate possession but we couldn't because Roma pressed us man to man so we had to play long balls. He exactly said this in his press conference, Roma took risks and he expected our players to run behind their high line defence.

Roma pressed us, Real pressed us in the first half and Atletico pressed us in the second half and everytime we don't have the ball as our players are terrible under opponent's pressure.

The difference is that against Real and Atletico we defended well and against Roma we didn't.

Don't u guys know that Dembele is much much needed for our important game at weekend for title we have already won? Come on guys valverde is genius he keeping Dembele safe for title we already won
