That stuff about Messi is nonsense, he used to struggle to score in Italy and England. Germans don't have a special power over him.

So I watched Rm-Bayern to find out what the hell happened there because I haven't seen it last year. Here are some observations:

So Bayern managed to control the midfield even at Barnabeu with intensive pressing which is a bit worrying.
However they couldn't do anything against well organized RM defence even with Ribery and Robben.
Mandzukic was useless (Lewa is a huge upgrade I think).
Lol at Dante who was holding hands with Boeteng marking Ronaldo while Ramos was alone for second goal at Allianz.
The most worrying thing is crosses, I lot of crosses to the penalty box and as Pepe and Ramos could easily deal with them, I don't have the same confidence in Mascherano.

+1

Honestly, I don't believe the german-kryptonite tail, you can discount the 2013 tie for obvious reason, even in the WC he wasn't that bad, still created chances only for Palacio/Pipito to screw it up.

I don't expect he'll score, but I do expect he'll be instrumental and have a MotM performance :)

Visca Barça!

I am still waiting for someone to correct BBZ on his claim of Messi having played the 2nd leg vs Bayern in 2013.

The fact that we have a bad set of historical results against Bayern counts for absolutely nothing. People who need explaining that should stop talking about football.

Leo didn't play the 2nd leg. He was on the bench, I remember that, all my mates were laughing at him and Barca, that's why I remember that

And what a horrible day that was, it took some time to move on from that defeat.

The difference between Messi vs Germans, Italians or Englishmen is:
1. Messi maybe didn't score at away matches vs Italians and English teams, but he was playing well both homa and away, and scoring at home matches, plus Barca was in most of the cases a winning side in the end
2. with Germany NT and Bayern, it is different
-- we won against Bayern in a 2009's tie
-- and Messi lost with Argentina against Germany on World cups in 2006, 2010 and 2014
-- also, Messi lost against Bayern with Barca in 2013 with 0:7 (ok, he didn't play in the 2nd leg)

Messi scored and won against probably every team in the word.
Germany NT and Bayern combined are probably the only combo which has a positive result against Messi.
And not only positive but 4:1 result in ties.

So, this is really a moment to lower this result to 4:2 and to break this spell.

By the same token you can just as easily say that the German NT has a very bad recent track record vs Spain. Does that have any bearing on tonight's game? No, absolutely not! Stop mixing irrelevant things up.

Back then I once stated that under Tito we never looked tactically superior. Rather it was the individual effort and quality of our players that made the difference for almost every game. In fact, the clasicos in Tito's era showed that very clearly, Real Madrid knew how to stop us (after years of trial & error), yet we had not found a new way to surprise our opponents. Bayern trashed us there, a team on form could have made a difference, but they outplayed and outsmarted us tactically. In addition, Tito kinda never rotated players and naturally they were super tired at the end of that long season.

I hope it will be different today, we do not only have Messi, but Neymar and Suarez. Our team is on form, there is much more hunger (Suarez, Neymar, Rakitic, Bravo, Stegen) as we have fresh players that want to play in a CL final.

Can't really study at the moment as I am always distracted by the game. Hope we'll win!

This, Lucho's Barca would probably also trash Tito's Barca 7-0.
