Bravo's conceded goal from Santi Mina vs. Valencia

Can someone please inform Pique and Mascherano that only one person needs to cover the man with the ball while the other tracks the man running free into the box?

I'm sure Claudio would appreciate it.

In the 2nd goal, I don't understand why both of our fullbacks need to be so high up the pitch.

I am not sure whether the coach instructed them to do that (or HASN'T instructed them to play slightly more cautious in the minute 85 with the result 2:1).
Or players are just (tactically) retarded.
Or both.

We need to sign a back-up LB to Alba, yes.

But regardless, Marlboro isn't the only one to be the scapegoat for the draw.

Early on in the season when we shipped countless goals due to Mathieu being shit Mats became the scapegoat. Now you're trying to point the blame at every other defender?

Basic facts: We were leading before Mathieu came on. Comfortably, I may add. Both goals were either a result of Mathieu's poor positioning. A 2-0 lead turned into a 2-2 draw against a team that even the likes of Marc Bartra could take a shit on.

At what point do you finally sit down and accept that Mathieu at LB is a massive problem? You don't call someone a scapegoat when they're consistently the source of many of our defensive problems.

Yes, Mascherano is pretty terrible as well and he didn't do a good job, and yeah, Busquets did make a poor pass, but those mistakes would be covered for by any decent left back, hence why I said it's only unfair to attack Mathieu if we pretend we didn't have a LB, although we might have done better if we hadn't.

I think we can all agree that Mathieu at LB is just asking for it

But the rabbit hole goes deeper: The whole defense and how the flanks work through the high-pressing possession system are also a vulnerability waiting to be exploited. That's an issue we've had since the Pep days, whenever you face a speedy counter-attacking team one mistake and you are done. Luckily we fixed some of the blunders regarding high balls in defense that were dooming us previous seasons, but defense transition and relays in/out possession need to be tuned asap. We cant be that exposed whenever we lose a ball in MF and if we face higher pressure we need to be more vertical. Tiki-taka without pace or attacking intention is liability for our GKs & Defense and an opportunity for rivals.

Enormous save. Good for Claudio he finally gets to play in an international competition for Barca. Hopes he gets the final.
