It does matter. Instead of offering 35M for a defender they could offer 40. Instead of offering 40 they could offer 45. Etc... How many deals have not been made in the last couple of years because they were reluctant to pay a small extra amount?

No matter how you look at it, they paid a lot for a reserve keeper. He is good though so at least it's not a fiasco.

We had to pay that amount. It is clear barca wanted him more than anyone. So a 4M extra is not a big deal imo. If you take 5 signings 20M extra but if it means we get our targets then it is fine. Real Sociedad would never have accepted a bid less than 10M. What would you want barca to do shift targets for just 4M???

Son just had the best season of his career so far and with the enitre GK team change it was pretty much now or never for him this summer. Now he'll have to settle for occasional friendly minutes
