Claudio Bravo

Those who think Bravo will be our new Pinto will have one big surprise. He surely has received some kind of assurances that there will be a fair competition between him and Stegen.

Yep. I've been saying the same thing. But some people here are convinced that his role will be that of a reserve keeper.

If I were Masip, I'd be pretty pissed.

Son just had the best season of his career so far and with the enitre GK team change it was pretty much now or never for him this summer. Now he'll have to settle for occasional friendly minutes

I thought Lucho having already coached him would 've shown a bit more faith in him, rather ask for another keeper. Hopefully he gets his fair chance.

Welcome! World class keeper.

So worldclass, that he had no one else vying for his signature until today. And he's 31. But you tend to become an instant fan of any player who signs for us. Not surprising. You'd call Anderson world class if we signed him.

I was a ter Stegen and Rakitic fan far before they've signed for us. It raised my love for them after they did.

I am not a fan of any player who signs for us, I just stated a fact that he is a world class keeper which he is, I'm not a fan.

And the thing is I have to agree with Bravo. I've been watching him closely these couple of weeks, and he's much too good to be a reserve keeper.

Before signing him every one was like he is not good enough for reserve. Why are we not going for cabellaro or so and so. Now it is like he is too good to be reserve he will be starter and all. The season did not start and ter stegen is too young and has never played for a big club or in la liga. Bravo has experience in la liga, he should start initially and ter stegen should be slowly integrated. If he improves fast he can be starter in no time. This will be better for the club.

Don't let the WC fool you. It is easier to look good in a short tournament like WC by having a couple of nice games. Much harder to impress and remain consistent in a 40+ game, year long competition.

Claudio Bravo in La Liga was nothing but a poster-child for an average goal keeper. He is an average goal keeper. If Stegen is anywhere as talented as he looked in the Bundesliga, he'll have no problem setting himself apart from Bravo.

I don't understand why we would pay this amount for a second keeper, didn't Madrid get lopez for 2million? That's 10 million less we could throw at a world class CB. I hope he proves me wrong but then again if he gets a lot of playing time that would suggest Ter Stegen isn't doing well.

First bad signing, by Lucho and the board.

Keep your crystal ball to yourself until Bravo has at least played a few games for the club. And if anybody should be blamed for the signing it's Lucho's assistant, Unzue, because he specifically asked for Bravo to be signed. And I'd trust Unzue considering he used to be Barca's goalkeeeping coach.

I don't get the argument about MAtS being too young with no LL experience. Hence need to be slowly integrated. A young DDG started for ManU with no PL experience. You either buy a talent who you think is ready to be your #1, or you allow the youngster to gain the experience elsewhere.

It could also mean:
TS has not been given a fair chance to redeem his performances, or that the technical team could be favouring their signing.

Great signing!

A solid choice for back-up keeper.

Really liking the signing so far this summer. Please get a defender next.

Could it be possible that they loan out MAtS for a year? This signing is a real head scratcher.

This could also be a case of the board wanting to prevent another situation like this season where the reserve goalkeeper (Pinto) was not good enough to replace the starting goalkeeper (Valdes) when the latter got injured. Our season basically fell apart when Valdes injured his knee.
