This guy is bang average. Why do you think hes been in europe for 8 years and Barca is the first big club to approach him. Heck even middling clubs. Its like signing Iraizoz from Athletic Bilbao and that's before even talking about the price tag and the ridiculous idea that he could be a starter at Barca. If that happens probably about 10 teams in the league would have a better GK starting for their teams.

I can't feel ma face!
Ochoa has conceded 72 goals last season and he hasn't had a great game against Croatia either. The game vs Brazil was a stand-out single performance.

The guy is far from being a solid, regular keeper.

As for the question, I think yes.

Ochoa is average, if not below that sometimes. One godly performance against Brazil doesn't make him world class. There is a reason that Ajaccio didn't renew him you know.

Lol you guys must not watch Ajaccio.
Ochoa has had many outstanding games with them. He single handedly saved (literally) Ajaccio from regulation few years ago. Unfortunately there is so much one can do with a terrible team. Ajaccio is being sent to second division. The reason why they didn't re new him because he deserves better. They all know it. Ochoa doesn't want to play in second division when he knows he can move to a bigger club.

A backup keeper of Bravo's quality could be had for €0 + a small signing on fee. Bloody hell, we just spent as much on Stegen for crying out loud...

Ochoa? He's not really. And it's a joke that forum users think that the club should have signed somebody and then the club gets all of the blame if the signing doesn't happen. You do realize that the player has to agree too right. After his performance against Brazil, there'll be loads of clubs lining up for Ochoa's signature. And he might not want to be second choice at Barca when he could play as a starter elsewhere.

Ochoa isn't even that great... He performed well but he was lucky to be standing in the right position at the right time in a few occasions.

But I'm not talking about Ochoa  Anyway, I don't think Bravos is that great and I also believe we could have found somebody better that would accept a backup role (playing the copa + some other games) for far less than we bought Bravo for. The majority of the forum seem to agree with that, but than again I'm not a professional goalie scout...

Yes, most people agree with you.

If Lucho really wanted a clear #2, there were quite a few under-the-radar possibilities like Hamburg's Adler or Osasuna's Fernandez

And seriously, I don't have anything against Bravo - he seems decent enough and I'll actually wait with my judgement until he plays some games for us. But what I'm mad about is our board - we sign players lika Bravo for €12M and than we sell players like Villa, who's scored hundreds of goals and was one of the best forwards, for peanuts. We release Henry and VV for free, we sell Yaya, Eto'o and Ibra for half the price of Bravo, we sell Cesc for far less than David Lulz, we **** around with Bojan and other players we have on loan for like forever. I mean, **** logic and any kind of business sense by our board - sooooooooo frustrating.

12m is too much for a backup keeper. And Bravo is not good enough to be the #1 gk. I really don't understand why they pushed so hard for him.

I dont mind this signing even if it may be slightly too expensive.

This season is different in that they were looking for a number two of a higher standard than normal and would instantly be able to handle the big occasion and have experience of La Liga.

There is still an element of gamble with Ter Stegen no one knows how he will adapt or cope with pressure.

Probably paid a bit too much for him but he is a much better option than the likes of Ochoa.
