Claudio Bravo

No of course I didn't. Look, it seems to me that all this talks occur probably out of the frustration that another youngster may not be given 'proper chance' to develop here.

I also have the same feeling.

Personally, I am also for Ter Stegen.
But sometimes I have a feeling that people here are going to far with bias towards younger players, especially La Masia players.

Playing Ter Stegen and Munir is one thing.
But if people on this forum would have the ability to vote for their ideal starting 11, probably most of the users would pick:
-- Gk: Ter Stegen over Bravo
-- the problem is that too many users would even pick young Masip before Bravo
-- Dr: Montoya over Alves or Douglas
-- Dc: Bartra over all other players (!!)
-- Midfield: Rafinha over Xavi
-- Attack: Messi, Ney, Suarez, with Deulofeu, Munir, Sandro and Adama as squad players
-- also, a lot of users would rather play Ie than Mascherano as a Dc. Hard-core fans of youngsters would probably even rather give minutes to Ie than Pique or Vermaelen.

Ok, it is nice to believe in our young players, but some fans are just going waaaay to far with obsession with youngsters on all positions, at all costs.

How much credit do I give him? He is a good backup(albeit too expensive for one), I never said otherwise. But that's it. Not good enough to be Barça's 1st gk.

Maybe not on the long run, but he's good enough to play in the 1st 11 without making me worry whenever the ball gets in our box. He is somewhat predisposed to occasional blunders -- true that, but not even close to Pinto's level --, but one of the best reflex-keepers in the league. Many people seem to dismiss his reflex, which is impressive.

To me, he is better than Valdes was until 2009 or so. And he is similar to Victor, both on the reflex part and on the blunders part (Valdes made quite a few of those during his tenure here).

I agree with some of your post. Montoya over Alves? I agree, not the best idea. Bartra? Yeah, probably doesn't deserve to start. Rafinha over Xavi? Yeah, definitely not. Ie over Masch? Agree, that would be a shit idea.

But there's really no reason to pick Bravo over Ter Stegen.

MAtS is not from la masia. And I pick him beased on his abilities, not his age. He is just a better gk than Bravo.

He already made me worry a few times, and the season barely started. That ball he let go by him in the dying minutes against villarreal, for instance. If there was a player coming, nothing he could do. He has conceded in similar plays(neymar's 1st lliga goal, for example). I don't feel confidence in him, so far he's looking flustered.

I don't think he is better than any version of Victor, not even close. Victor was the best gk Barça ever had, and is still underrated.

IMO, it wasn't until after 2008 Valdes started to become great. And even after that he made some big big errors. Even in the last few clasicos he made some, like the ball he gave Di Maria in the Supercup or the pass he screwed up in the first min. of the clasico we won 3-1 on Bernabeu. Overall, yes, Valdes became a legend, but he had his faults as a keeper.

As for Bravo, I didn't sense he made any mistakes against Villareal. That ball you are talking about was pretty difficult to handle and I think he knew that the safest thing to do is to let it pass. As for Neymar's first liga goal, if you see the replay slowly, it was one of Real's defenders that deflected the ball first, a deflection which had a big impact in how the play evolved. Sure, he could have done better, but as I said, Valdes had a lot of support from the fans and the club even when he screwed up bad, and I mean really bad -- youtube blunders stuff.

We should find a way to let him prove his worth without being too critical too soon. So far, he hasn't conceded a single goal in the official games and he had one major save on El Madrigal. Let's see where he goes from there.

That right there is where there is no longer any point in listening to your opinion, as it is invalid. You might as well say Messi hasn't been good since 2011, in your opinion. You're entitled to it and everything but you're still pretty off base with reality.
