Claudio Bravo

If we get further in the CL then we should give MAtS more game time in the league. Unfair to him to expect him to play well when he only plays a couple of times a month. Other than that Bravo at least deserves the majority of league games until the end of the season.

And this is coming from a MASSIVE MAtS fan.

Patience linetty. His time will come :mats:

Leeway? Valdes was highly criticized in here. Actually, if it were Valdes yesterday, his thread would be full of criticism, and heavier than the ones Bravo is getting.

Who the hell cares about this thread? Or even this forum? I mean the club. The management. If one of our keepers makes the kind of errors Victor made (Still remember him trying to dribble Di Maria and costing us the SuperCup in 2012) he'd almost definitely find himself on the bench.

Valdes was the best gk we ever had, but that's not why he wouldn't be benched for a mistake.
I doubt LE would bench Bravo or MAtS if they did a similar mistake to the one you used as an example.

But if they messed up as frequently as Valdes did they almost certainly would be. It would only make sense. if ter Stegen was making a complete mess of things it would make sense for Lucho to bench him for Bravo, and vice-versa. It wouldn't make sense to stick with one keeper when the other is waiting for the chance to prove himself, and the whole "Bravo has done nothing wrong" argument (Which, imo, is no longer valid) would have no weight to it.

The main thing Valdes had going for him was lack of competition. If he messed up what were we going to do, play Pinto instead?

I don't want go offtopic for too long, but nothing of what you wrote is true, in the slightest. Valdes was a great gk, and he helped more than messed up. It wasn't frequently as you said, at all. There wasn't need for competition while Vv was here. As it will be if MAtS fullfills his potential for us.

So what happens now that both keepers have messed up, by your logic do we play Masip now? Hopefully you might actually start to appreciate Bravo now and not shit all over him. As you said the 'German is waiting.' Well now the Chilean is waiting to redeem himself for the Bilbao game.

If they both have bad hands, let's start the one with the better feet :messi:

Wouldn't mind giving Masip a game or two, to be honest. He deserves the chance to prove himself more than both Bravo and ter Stegen, even though we can all reasonably conclude he wouldn't do any better.

We'll see if Bravo redeems himself this in the coming two games. Luckily for him he's not going to have to deal with any tough matches for several weeks while ter Stegen is about to face the big game gauntlet, so to speak, as we enter the business end of the season.

Not a great performance from the few interventions he had to make in the whole game but I recall a missed interception from a corner kick and an attempted pass sent straight to a corner for Levante. He also intercepted very well a thorough pass that might have threatened the score line.

No one talking about him? The goal was his fault as much as Alves'. After Alves passed, he stood there for 3 seconds (!!!) until he decided to rush forward and go for the ball after all, and then it was the wrong decision.

Alves' pass was too weak. Bravo should had reacted quickly, but I won't blame him for it.
