Clément Lenglet (loaned to Atletico)

Like I said in the match thread, it looked like he coasted way too long on the idea that he's fit and always available and isn't crocked like Umtiti, while Pique is out injured so he has to play.

Pretty damning Indictment of his current abilities that Koeman decided to bring Umtiti back into the fold despite his knee problems. Umtiti played well and looked fucking miles ahead of Lenglet and I wouldn't even be surprised as long as Umtiti remains fit he won back his starting spot while Lenglet remains on the bench.

It also shows Koeman does pay attention quite a bit that he sees the same shit we do in regards to Lenglet.

Lenglet needs to start against PSG. Can't rely on one legged Umtiti after his yesterday's display. Neymar and Mbappe will have him for dinner.

I've thought about this as well but our current system is working well, at least offensively we're creating a lot of chances. And while we still give away a lot of chances to the opponents those are usually invididual mistakes which are preventable. So I wouldn't change a system.

If we'd go with a 3-4-3 we'd probably need to remove Dembele from the starting XI (which maybe wouldn't be that bad as we could unleash his fresh legs in 2nd half against tired defenders).

MATS; Mingueza, Araujo, Lenglet; Dest, Busi, FDJ, Alba; Pedri; Messi, Griezmann

We also don't have that much experience playing with 3 at the back so there could be some miscomunnication between the players etc.

Either way I just hope we'll play with a much lower backline so we won't be caught up like we did with second Granada goal when we had 10 players in the opponents half and we couldn't even play them offisde, lol. Doing the same against PSG would be suicidal regardless of who will play in defense.

As bad as he is, Lenglet is our 2nd best CB who is healthy, 3rd when Pique comeback (unless he loses a step because of the injury)
This is the reality of our CB situation

True. And the club is about to make the same mistake again by signing Eric Garcia. Yes, he is free. Yes, he is ex La Masia. Yes, he has nice ball playing abilities. Most of all he is just "more of the same". Good on the ball, good anticipation. Physically weak, losing many aerial duels and can't track back to disposess a countering player to save his life.

Changing the system at this stage would be suicide. We should just hope whoever partners Araujo, be it Lenglet, Umtiti or Mingueza, will have a good couple of games. With "good" being just no defensive brainfarts. It's fine if they get outpaced by Mbappe or dribbled past by Neymar, everyone does. Just no big errors, red cards, penalties, etc.

This fucker is capable of being one of the worst cb we had to this. Great performance besides that terrible miss
