Yes, because the Confed Cup final alone is the true measure of international football ranking.

Of course it is, and so is one bad season in the CL no matter how Barca won the league.

Spanish domination is over and tonight was proof of that.

I still think Spain are the favorites to win the WC. Or at least they are still far ahead of Brazil.

I hope you're kidding. Spain have not one single decent forward, Xavi is getting slower and much less decisive, Pique has seen better days, they don't have any ok RBs and so on. Far ahead? I don't know if they are ahead at all...

Terrible Spanish side tonight. And God Brasil played dirty the first 30 minutes.

Either way Neymar is a beast. Happy to see him play for us next season.

Now lets hope Thiago Silva comes too and we'll destroy everybody next season including Bayern :-D:-D:-D

How come Spain was so good, almost invincible against Uruguay merely a week ago yet so bad today? What happened? Was it because Uruguay was so bad and Brazil is so good today or something about Spain itself?

52% possession for Spain. Things are actually getting worrying for Spain. And incedently, Barcelona. Where is the Busquets Iniesta Xavi trio that played those rondos in midfield before launching a fast and skillful forward (dead zone now) on goal?
Defense is not nearly as good as it once was with only Alba satisfactory, midfield is clearly down from its supreme level (although the Don rocks) and the forward line is not anything special or decisive anymore.

Btw I have not seen Spain - Uruguay

Because Uruguay are terrible right now. Seriously, am I the only who watches South American qualifying.

I pointed out as much during the Spain-Uruguay game while certain people were drooling over Pedro (LOL!) and Iniesta. Uruguay leave so much space nowadays

Spain has a really good squad. With a good set up they can work around the problems shown in this tournament. For starters bring back Cesc and Xabi Alonso.

Sure not far ahead, but definitely still favourite imo. Remember, this is the first time they lose in 50 games.

I noticed this tournament. Maybe that was deliberate? Del Bosque likes to experiment sometimes e.g playing no strikers vs playing Torres/Soldado. Maybe he wanted to play more direct this time?

Everyone reads so much into one game in a comparatively unimportant tournament. Wasn't like Brazil played mind-blowing football, although they deserved to win. Still, Spain will be a team to beat, along with Germany.

Uruguay weren't that bad today against Italy at all.

The game against Italy on fortaleza, at 35ºC and 90% humidity played a great part on the game today. They were really tired.

Add Italy to the list. Germany, as much as I love them, has Jogi Löw as their coach after all, so they shouldn't go too far. ;)
