Di Maria deserves credit for 2 goals - things changed when he came in.
As to the freekick, I was starting to blame the Brazilian referee for not awarding a penalty - but Messi probably enjoys the freekick more than the penalty!

Referee first giving yellow was a good joke :koeman:

Was Romero injured, thier defense is their biggest weakness, you can't win shit with otamemdi as your starting cb.

If Argentina are to win it is going to be a very scrappy one with luck involved because they are a poor team. That midfield can barely put 2 passes together and he doesn't play his best players. I mean what did Angel correa do to get dropped. Play too well was it. He is much better than gonzalez. I think the only reason latauro keeps his spot is his determination and workrate. I'd rather aguero played with his superior quality. Di Maria should be considered for a start as well. He's obviously a negative coach who doesn't mind the scrappy win

Argentina wouldn't have a hope without messi. Another 2 assists to add to his many for Argentina and a brilliant freekick

Romero should be back for semi-final.

Will never happen, but Lisandro Martinez for Otamendi should be considered. He is a disaster waiting to happen. No composure whatsoever in that guy.

People keep saying this is a poor team.. it's the best Argentina in ages. They are playing much better football than previous years.

They barely made it to World Cup last time. That's how bad they were.

Nicolas Gonzalez is losing more and more coins the more I watch him. Reminds me of Pavon.
Should consider someone else there. Papu maybe. But there's always the risk of disrupting the rhythm of the XI.

Papu or Correa IMO.

Di Maria seem more useful as an impact sub at the RW.

Nico was good during the WCQ games during fall 2020.

His profile is what the team needs but he doesn't look confident right now and I'd say his injury before the Copa puts him in a bad form right now.

For this tournament, I would go for A. Correa, but I would not mind using Papu with a slight team modification since Papu's a totally different profile.

Correa is the superior player but I think it'd be too unbalanced with him at LW.
Not sure I've seen him play to the left that much either.
