If Barca stop fucking around then we really should be the favorites. But EV's decision making is a huge question mark holding us back and we still have weak areas in the squad.

Also Liverpool are dark horses IMO. They looked really great last year, Salah is an X factor which makes a difference in tournament settings, and they just revamped their entire midfield from Henderson/Milner to Naby Keita/Fabinho which could be huge.

City as well if Pep stops bottling it in the CL should be big contenders.

Peps football has been found out, any top team can beat that style.

Liverpool was the worst possible draw for City. Klopp's system is the perfect counter to Pep's. Would have liked to see them against one of the top boys from Europe though. Get a truer sense of where they're at as a club.

Any team at the top can beat any other team. Pep's style with the squad he has doesn't set them a tier above the other teams. And it doesn't really have to do with being "found out" either though there are solutions to it. Liverpool's system under Klopp + having some of the best dynamic attackers in the world (Salah, Firmino, Mane) can beat anyone on the day and are a matchup nightmare for City. I'd say they were the most dangerous threat to City in the CL at the time because of how perfectly they match up against them, even moreso than RM.

Pep's team is young and only a few of their players (De Bruyne, Silva, maybe Aguero) are really at the world class level. Others like Sane, Jesus, etc. haven't gotten there yet and that's where they need to be to win a CL.

So its done then, sad day for us, with no proper replacement looking to come in, we will be weakened by quite a bit.
450 goals in 438 games, and adjusting for inflating, we sold him for pretty much the same price as we got him for(ofc, the market is insane these days though), best transfer in history?

We have a very talented squad, so im not that worried about build-up play, but Bale is pretty much the only reliable goalscorer left, and he is injuried half of the time, this isnt going to end well. We can make an effort for the CL again, perhaps, but we wont be scoring the goals to compete with Barca in the league.

barca might also be complacent in the league with the threat of CR7's goalscoring gone.

Pretty shure Real will buy a proven goalscorer, Icardi? Lewandowski perhaps?
Talent like Kane or the PSG boys probably not realistic

Good move by him, he will stack up a few more league titles & juve were 1 player who isn't afraid of the spot light away from winning at least 1 CL

If he wins 1 CL & the given league titles he will be writing a wonderful script to his career to be honest.

RM aren't just gonna roll over and not try to renew their team. Floper hasn't had to truly gauge the market for key players for a few years now so we'll see how he does there, but I expect they'll make at least like 2 big signings to boost the front lines. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Lewandowski will be a significant downgrade, he is in decline, though i guess he could do the job against mid-table la liga sides, better than nothing.

or stay in his comfort zone
From Man united (best club in England ) to Rm (9 times Cl winners ) to Juve ( 7 back to back serie A winners) Oh yeah that was such a tough path unlike certain player who refused offer from Juve during the dark days of Gaspart era in Barcelona

Honestly, RM were in a bit of a mess when he arrived, he had the option to go to Barca as well, didnt he? They were significantly better at the time.
