CR7 for me.
R9 could have been what you get if you mixed the talents of Messi and Cristiano together but he lacked work ethic, health and peak to compete with those two in the all time list.
But this is Barca fans forum, so 99% of the answers will be R9 most likely

Who was the better footballer at their peak? Clearly R9, probably the best player ever. Definitely the best striker. Who had the better career, Cristiano of course.

Potential = R9
Higher peak = R9
Longetivity, more trophies, better career in the end = CR7
R9 was already at his prime aged 20.
You know how we often say: a player is young, he has potential, he needs time, he needs confidence, he needs a season or two to fit into a team.
Well, this is how R9 played RIGHT AWAY in his only season at Barca, 96/97, aged 20.
Played 49 matches that season, scored 47 goals.
Everyone called him an alien back then:
Sadly, several knee injuries and hormonal problems ruined his career.

If the question is "better footballer" it's hands down the Brazilian. The only on on par with Messi talent wise as a footballer. But with the health issue and injuries he couldn't sustain his level unfortunately.
