Bad look for messi going to a farmers league & for city/pep ending up with a lesser player in Ronaldo when they could have had Messi, who would be absolutely perfect for the pass & move football pep plays.

Great move for Ronaldo though.

That is what makes this pre season/season so absurd. Messi and Ramos at PSG, but Messi to City appeared the natural fit. Ronaldo if wanting a return to PL and a possible CL, United seems first choice.

At least City can bring him off the bench quickly to take a penalty. :)

Wonder what Pep will answer when he gets the "Who's better, Messi or Ronaldo?" question.

He has made his opinion on Messi clear in the past, but maybe he'll start delivering more word salads to avoid giving an answer and to protect Cristi's fragile ego.

Well, Pep is known for being a hypocrite

Pep is just buying Ronaldo to bench him, showing everyone Messi is better. :coffee:

I think it's one of those rare occasions where even a manager with huge authority like Pep is bypassed because of the marketing opportunity more than anything.

Ronaldo City shirt sales will be soaring in the middle east, USA etc even if he doesn't add to much from a sporting perspective at 36/37 years old.

Jeez some guys here are really shitting their pants at the prospect of Ronaldo coming to City.

Not at all. Just a little bit disappointed. He is a ManU legend. Thought he had more class but apparently no. All about sealing his legacy and trying his all to get one or two more CL titles so he stayes ahead of Messi in that regard.
