Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Semi-Neutral

He had a perfectly weighted pass for Coentrao's assist, he missed a medium to easy chance, and he didn't have the opportunity to do much else. Not a great game, but if Messi had it we certainly wouldn't say that he was "pure shit".

Leo did better performances against Atletico/Real Madrid and most of the people here were like "Sell him RIGHT NOW".

It wasn't most of the people, it was like two or three, and then everyone else filled the next three pages with "I don't know why most people want to sell Messi," and that happened after every big game.

Brilliant one touch pass that led to goal, should have scored the sitter but it is somewhat understandable that rhytm might not be there due to him being sidelined for few weeks.

CR: Sidelined for few weeks. Understandably lost rhythm
Messi : Sidelined for 2 months. Whats wrong with him he is never going to be the best again

Messi was injured in november. That's over half a year ago. His poor performances against AM -- in both legs -- had nothing to do with his injury. And it's no shame in admiting Ronaldo was better than Messi (so far) this season, except if you are one of Messi's worshipers.

If we are going to praise him for the pass then Messi should have gotten a lot of praise for his incredible pass to Iniesta and his pass to Sanchez vs AM which set up 2 wonderful opportunities :messi: Maybe Ronaldo won't break Mess's 14 goal record after all.

How would you rate Ronaldo's game from last night? Also It is perfectly reasonable to say Ronaldo has not been better than Messi this season.

Ronaldo played while not being 100% fit. Considering that, he's had his impact on the win by providing a great pass for the only goal of the match. And I say that with no particular love for Cristiano Ronaldo.

And yes, for a Barca fan is perfectly reasonable to say Ronaldo has not been better than Messi this season. But judging for a more objective perspective, he has the better numbers and his team has done better than Barcelona. What arguments could you give for Messi > Ronaldo this season? Not a single strong one.

Not a fair comparation since Real had like 25-30% of the ball against Bayern and Barca had 70-75% of the ball against Atletico. Ronaldo had few moments on the ball, and still managed to make a difference.

In what Universe has Ronaldo been better than Messi this season ?

On what argument do you base your opinion ?

On stats. That's the most solid argument there is.

Also Ronaldo is currently the Ballon d'Or winner. That should give us a hint that the perception on who's better AT THE MOMENT is leaning towards Ronaldo.

Stats say Cesc better than Iniesta.

Some stats. Cesc has more assists and goals, but Iniesta didn't play false 9 or winger some games. Different positions. And Iniesta's season wasn't that great either. He had a spell of one month, maybe two, when he played awesome football, but other than that, it was with ups and downs for him too.
