Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

This season he has scored 30 goals already (23 La Liga, 5 CL, 2 European Super Cup)

9 of which were penaldos. 7 in La Liga and 2 in the Champions League.

That means that 30% of his goals this season are penaldos.

There is no advantage in case of a penalty. The ref is obliged to point to the spot.

Thats not right, seen many times the ref let the play go on if the team scores anyway. It makes no sense to calll a penalty when the ball is in the net shortly after the foul.

That was a clear pen no doubt about that. And yea, that was a goal no matter, pen or not. But, his all around game is (I'll be very generous) not top 20 of all time, let alone top 10 or GOAT status. He is becoming glorified poacher and only way he is scoring goals is being inside 5m box or with penalty. This is NOT a criticism, its simply fact.

Yes, goals are that matter, and yes his game (heading, speed and great penalty taking) will get him goals, but his all around game is just not great at all. To compare him with Messi is like comparing Jordan with Iverson, makes no sense.
that's what Im saying, I havent really liked his game style ever since he got to to Madrid, tap-ins, penalties... And more tap-ins. His game style lacks flavour as of late, really not comparable to how messi is playing right now at all.

He's that obsessed with scoring goals and outscoring Messi that that's all he's interested in. At United Ferguson wouldn't have that kind of selfishness and he wasn't as obsessed with just scoring. He's a stat padder now. Thing is player with most goals wins Ballon D'or so he could equal Messi's 4 in a row and is already on course to break his 50 league goals. By the end of the season he'll probably have more CL goals as Real should get further in the competition than Lucho's Barca.

Well, not only scoring, i think he has at least as many assists as Messi this season so far. Though i expect Messi have more assist by the end of the season.

He's playing in a great attacking side, functioning well with a record number of wins and scoring 4 and 5 every game. Messi's having to carry Barca himself and start all the attacks with nothing behind him.

That's what Madrid fans said about Messi back in the Pep/Barca glory days.

To be fair he was different in united. I enjoyed him at United because he made awesome tricks like ronaldinho. At real madrid he is boring as ** only tap ins , headers and penaltys. And oops dives too

I don't like watching him either. Football-wise, he is one of the least entertaining world class player out there. i'll stop at football-wise :)

But it's true for Ronaldo and false for Messi. there's no questioning that Ronaldo's (madrid) stats reflect the end product of his team. It's almost the opposite case for Leo.

You are forgetting they outscored us in Liga several seasons while we were at our best. RM had phenomenal team, 2nd only to us. Our current situation cannot be compared with them few years ago.

We are anemic and Messi is looking like main creator and finisher of our every action. Its not like others dont try, its that they just cant. RM with Ozil, Modric, Xabi and DiMaria could and Ronaldo didnt have to do shit with creation of their attacks.

I think comparing them as playmakers because of assists numbers is totally unfair, when you mention assists you have to take into consideration how well they set or give passes to other teammates, and Ronaldo falls waay short in comparison to Messi as a playmaker, only similarity between the two is their goal instinct, which in my opinion is pretty even, Messi has a tiny edge over him though, 91 goals in a calender year...

What about even before that? Like in Pelegrini's time and Mou's first season?
