Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

I fail to see why he is the "best" in the world. Playing a sh*tty game after another , scores a tap-in and all is fine. And thay celebration is beyond pathetic.

Only very few people (mostly in the RM camp) are saying he is "the best in the world". Make no mistake, him getting the 2014 BD does not make him the best player in the world, it only made him the player with arguably the best performance ( meaning scoring-wise, of course) in 2014.

He needs 25 goals in 23 games to hit Messi's 50, while everyone thinks that will be easy for him I'm not so sure. He is not likely to keep up the current pace and may dip after Christmas like he did last season.

One thing for sure is that his team is incredible up front and is giving him far more chances to score than Messi. Madrid look unstoppable...

Scoring Tap-ins is not a problem. Really.

I would love to see Cavani scoring lots of tap-ins. But contrary to Ronaldo, Cavani is crap and can't even score a lot of easy goals.

That said, also, I know that many people are bitter here, but it's not as if Messi, Robben, Muller, and lots of great players didn't score lots of tap-ins in their careers.

I can see it not happening if he gets injured.

But if he doesn't ( and I don't wish to. I am not a fan of wishing bad things to people, I leave 12yo kids doing that), with so many opportunities per game.............

If he breaks the record, it will not be because he's the best of the best,; but because he's part of an incredible team with arguably the best coach of the year.

Bertus of course you are right.

The thing is, when he plays like crap and scores, he celebrates as if he was the king of the world. And I am sure he will cry and make a very sentimental speech when he snatches the BD on January 13th again. When Messi played like crap and got recognized, he was hardly happy (looked at his reaction when he got the WC Golden Ball).

He is more likely to hit 70 goals than not hit 50 goals.

That's how he is. I don't think he's that much of an actor. That's how he reacts and "lives" through football.

Messi is different. It's like he's in his own world. Messi never has great or explosive reactions/actions after a goal or even a victory.

A smile, 2 maybe. Greating the fans. Well. You won't see Messi jumping everywhere with his fist going through the cloud. Each of them has different character and personality.

Ronaldo is Ronaldo. Messi is Messi.

That's how I personaly see it tho.
