Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Serious question, is Ronaldo an a-hole? I used to moderately like him, but in the last 8 months or so he's become obnoxious.

This whole fiasco reminds me of the old Galaticos, when the Brazilian Ronaldo held a party which was highly scrutinized and from then onwards the Galaticos self imploded.

Maybe this marks the beginning of a decline? ;)

I don't care if Ronaldo is a saint off the field cause I don't care about him as the person. All I have to tolerate about him is as a footballer and he's quite unlikeable for me.

Trying to compare Cr7 to Don Borges. Unbelievable

It's not a comparison, but players to watch in each team, though for Real I would go for Isco, their most dangerous (and most talented) player.

When I watched the match, it felt to me like his passing was very odd and uninventive so I looked at the diagram from that game and used another left winger, Neymar, for a reference.

Cristiano's passes last La Liga match (vs Deportivo at the Bernabéu):

OK so just yesterday I said this knee thing is probably an excuse, but after watching today's game I'm not so sure. His mobility seems so much more limited, and he couldn't sprint on counter-attacks like he used to. Maybe he doesn't want an injury lay-off and lose in the goals race. He had a huge lead over Messi at one point in the season and now he is actually behind on goals+assists despite playing a game more.

Seriously? He had a few good chances.. hit the bar.. open net.. overhead kick etc. If he had scored 2 you wouldn't be posting about his knee right now.

With tomorrow game he will be behind on goals as well. And btw, if it wasnt for his penalties, best scorer at real would be Benz. Or somewhere in that ballpark and I dont care when people say "penalties are goals". When 40% of your goals are pens something is wrong...

His knee is cronic and like Nadal he will always have problems with that. Having said that...he plays like this entire season its just that most important players in RM are overplayed or injured so he cant get that low hanging fruit of goals.

But don't forget that Messi missed a few penalties too... if we remove Ronaldo's penalty goals we should subtract Messi's missed penalties as well

In la liga Messi's record is actually very good, its only slightly less than Ronaldo I think. Its also in la liga where Ronaldo has something like 25/30% of his goals from the spot, which is insane considering his numbers.

He did miss, i think 2 or even 3. Ronaldo missed as well, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about fact that second best scorer in their team is Benz, who with Ronaldos penalties would be on 33-34 goal. All I'm saying is that goals make Ronaldo, he doesn't score he has a crap game. Why? Because he can't influence a game in any kind of meaningful way but with scoring, and huge amount of these are his penalties.

Benzema influences a game much more. He presses more, he plays with his back against the wall and he holds the ball for Bale/Ronaldo perfectly. He is ever-present even when he doesn't score. When Ronaldo doesn't score he has a crap game and knee problem, yet if he scored today people would talk about his great game. His game is limited and thats a fact.
