Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

Do we have an answer to that Isco-Modric-Kroos-James midfield, if they were to play that in the second leg? What would it be?

Skip the midfield and play long balls to SNM, LVG style. :xavi:

In all seriousness, play a Iniesta-Mascherano-Rakitic or even Rakitic spear heading a Busquets-Mascherano to disrupt their midfield's flow and get the ball ASAP to SNM.

No way we could afford to bench busquets for the clasico. If you look at our last defeat you will see that we lost that key battle in midfield. Having a destroyer like mascherano isn't going to make getting control of the midfield any easier. Rakitic should definitely start over Xavi though, he doesn't have the legs for El Clasico anymore

Relax, it was a joke. Despite the "all seriousness" modifier I foolishly added.

But yeah, definitely Iniesta-Busquets-Rakitic in midfield. Our big game 11 must play the Clasico.

I wonder how much money RM would get for Cristiano. I think that ManU would pay the highest fee but if I was them, I'd buy Bale instead of Ronaldo.
Cristiano is still world-class but every decent club should see that his decline is not that far away. His marketing potential is huge but that doesn't justify a fee over 70-80m IMO

Yeah the fee would be an interesting thing to see. Cristiano might very well be in a position where he has more value at RM than in any other club considering the likely high fee he'd command. Paying a lot of money for a 30 year old forward is almost guaranteed to under-perform that fee.
Furthermore, I think Cristiano going to the EPL now that he's beginning to have physical problems perhaps due to his age might be counter-productive to his longevity and performance. Those constant back and forth games and the lack of winter rest for sure won't do his ailments any favors.

Mendes and Perez already had a some what public falling out. There are rumors of Coentrao being sold this summer and them not extending Pepe in order to make room for Varane. Thats 2 Mendes guys Perez gets rid of. That could very well drive Cristiano to go back to the PL and United.

The De Gea rumors are just that. Why would they get Navas when they knew they could get De Gea in another year?

I don't think Real Madrid will sell him. He will continue to score goals and win games for them and he is after all the 2nd best player in the world and the face of Madrid at this point, both from the athletic and marketing stand point.

No reason to sell him.

No doubt about that but for how long will he score crazy amounts of goals for them? From a financial POV this summer would be the ideal chance to sell him for a ''huge'' fee. Perez is a business person and he knows that Ronaldo's decline could be just around the corner.

Yeah he will stay at RM for a few more years, there's no reason to get out of RM right now, I'm predicting in 2-3 more years then he will look for other contenders to buy him, I can't pedict if he is going to decline from now on or if he's going to be as good as ever, obviously he is in a rough moment right now but he is still 30, old but not old enough to think he is going to lose all his speed or goal instincts. Like Donandres said this upcoming game will tell us a lot about Ronaldos current situation, is the knee problem really that bad?
