i remember the year 2010 when the award still had some credibility .. back when no one knew the actual results before the gala ( thanks to the diva who threatened to boycott like a bitch had he not won the award in 2013 now we know the winner weeks in advance ).. i remember watching the show i was thinking .. Messi is clearly the best in th world by lightyears .. so why are they going to give the award to iniesta or xavi just because their team the world cup ( don't mind it being a factor but not the ultimate one ) .. i was genuinely surprised when messi's name came out .. i was like that's what the fuck i'm talking about .. the actual best player in the world wins this shit not this stupid shit of "search for the winning team" then pick up a player blatantly

Btw, no one here complained when Messi one won basically nothing(ok, cdr, big deal) and scored a shit-ton of meaningless goals that one year. But when Ronaldo scored like 70, a good 20-30 more than Messi, everyone bitched about it like no tomorrow
Sure, Messi broke a goal-record, but it still did almost nothing for Barca, and he did statpad like crazy that year, but somehow that was much more meaningful?

let me tell you something Buddy .. i think Modric is by far the best and most important real Madrid player right now .. and secondly , i complained about Ronaldo threatening to boycott the awards ( didn't say he didn't deserve the award ) .. secondly , those 3 ballon d'ors Ronaldo have are deserved , i didn't mind because messi was struggling bad with injuries and no one was more deserving as a replacement .. but as of 2016 , there is no way in hell Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world .. Messi , suarez , griezman , Nuer , Modric all of those are far Superior players in 2016 .. but those stupid criterias of " we should pick one among the ones who won collective trophies" that's a bullshit criteria .. it shouldn't be mandatory ..

Those goals helped Barça win la liga 12-13 too. That run he had, of scoring against all liga sides consecutively(19 rounds) was in the 12-13 season. And cr only scored that many more because Messi was injured for months.Hyperbole, much?

All those meaningless goals and assists, all for a lousy cdr? You see, every single time Ronaldos goals doesnt lead to a glorious trophy, they are essentially meaningless, according to "some". But when Messi statpadded like crazy in 2012 it was suddenly a work of art, yet Messi and Barca only had a lousy cdr to show for. I admit, Ronaldo did score less in 2013 than Messi did in 2012, but the argument is still the same, basically. a year after, individual stats didnt matter anymore, in 2013, then it was all about team trophies, lol.
Just for the record, im not here to say Messi deserved ballon dor x or Ronaldo deserved ballon dor y, really, im just pointing out the hypocrisy. Personally, i feel 2012 was the ballon dor Ronaldo deserved the most, regardless of Messis goals, and that the 2013 for Ronaldo was somewhat undeserved, regardless of his goal advantage.

And one liga. Keep ignoring that, though. Calendar year corresponds to halfs of 2 seasons, not just one. It's not every year a player scores 91 goals either.
2013 marked a corruption for the bdor. Messi was going to win it, if not for the reopening of votes. That says a lot.

Lousy Cdr ... Lousy Cdr . By using the word Lousy multiple times won't diminish the importance of that trophy. it's one of the prestigious cups in club football. A cup won does count , and Messi was pivotal in their Copa campaign. Unlike Ronaldo who was scoring like crazy in pre Ballon dor voting months which counted for nothing in the end. ask any Madrid fan they would prefer a Cdr than a trophyless season .

And please no , Ronaldo didn't deserved it in 2012. The only one who was on par with Leo in 2012 was Iniesta ... only time Ronaldo looked like he was best in the world by influencing each and every attacking aspects was in 08 and he won it deservingly . Even though he was a pure Goal scorer in 2014 , i would say he deserved because of his influence in Ucl winning campaign against Dortmund and Bayern , were he was a crucial part in Benzema's opening goal in bernabue

40 of the 91 goals scored by Messi were in the second semester of 2012, during the 12-13 season, in which Barça won la liga. Is it really that hard to understand? His run of scoring in 19 consecutive matches was also for that season.
His assist count wasnt twice that of Ronaldos, not even close, check your facts. Besides, numbers alone only matters if you break a record? Thats nice.
