Daniel Alves

We need him. Barca cannot be the same without him...

But if he is asking for way too much, then maybe we should consider...but my opinion would be for Barca to do evverything possible to keep Alves.

Now on the other hand, he himself, must be something of an idiot for even contemplating leaving Barca...

OK, so apparently City wants Alves, a lot.

How about accepting Alves as a summer transfer, in partial payment for their player who would really fit better at Barca? He has expressed his unhappiness with City and with cold England (since revoked). Barca could throw in Bojan and Jeffren, as well.

I can't thing of any forward not with Barca now who would fit in better than Tevez. Constantly rotate Messi, Villa, Pedro and Tevez. Maybe experiment every once in a while with Tevez or Messi at attacking midfielder, when Iniesta needs a rest.

That doesn't sound too bad.

I've said it once, over a month ago, and I'll say it again...

"It's not about the money. And he's not an idiot.
Your statement is extremely subjective and biased. It is easy for a barca fan to say that. But there are only two kinds of people who could unconditionally agree with what you have said:
1. Barca fans
2. Masia products (and to this you can add veteran buys who play big back-room roles)

Dani Alves was not a Barca fan, it was not a dream of his to go to Barca. He played well, won a move to Barca. He would have gone to Madrid just as well as he came here. He won every conceivable trophy with the club. There is nothing more that he could want. He has lived in Spain since he was very young, and it would be completely normal for him to think it's time to move on. His pace and stamina isn't gonna last forever; he's not old, but moving to another top club would probably be his last league and european competition winning prime opportunity. Afterwards he'll be heading towards retirement -so downgrading clubs, going to exotic places...

There is no 'honour' here, nor is it a 'downgrade' to move to somewhere like ManU. No, far from it. It is a new challenge, but in no way a 'downgrade' - take off your blaugrana tinted glasses.
There comes a time when everyone wants to try something new. He's not a masia product, so i don't see why he should stay much longer than how long it takes to win all possible trophies."

We won't get hustled by players like that. Want a higher salary than the one on the table?

Get. The. Fuck. Out!!!!!!!
like happened with Gneg and Samu.

 What exactly has he done? It would be different if someone called Puyol or Xavi cunts who have been through the horrible times. Dani came to play under our best period and leaves because he doesn't get enough money?

Fuck off Dani, that's what I say you little cunt. If money's what you want you can have plenty of trophyless seasons in Manchester.
See bolded part. Need I remind you that he was instrumental during this "best period" you mention and we may not have had equal the success without him. Something to consider before throwing dirt on our players' names, Tiam.

All the Alves to City stuff is originating from Spain, it's just Alves trying to get a better contract and the city link is to scare Barca into giving him what he wants.

It happens all the time. Lukaku's agent name dropped City's interest just to bump up his wages.

This, he is doing a Rooney

I'm starting to dislike him because all this, but just give him the money. Who will replace Dani? No one can do the job like he does it.

Maybe we wouldn't have had equal success without Hleb aswell, you never know but still, it is possible to ship dani off. We're gonna have to switch wings and buy Evra or Ashley Cole but it is possible.

Besides, dani is a big match flopper aswell. how many assists bar the pass(majestic indeed) to Zlatan has he given?

The "instrumental"ness you are speaking of, where was that? Against Chelsea in the semi-final, he conceded numerous amounts of dangerous freekicks, was owned by Anelka. When attacking, he failed to put in a SINGLE cross. In the last minute of the match, he put in a cross but not even that one hit the head of Bojan!

He didn't even play in the final, where we won against the 2nd best club of the world with 2-0, WITHOUT mr "instrumental".
So I'm not convinced yet Pepe. Try convince me further I'd love to jump the Dani love fest bandwagon but atm, the club goes first. If you don't want to be here, sod off Speedy!

You're not convinced about Dani Alves (regarded as the #2 RB in the world)? :(

Okay, consider that he has completed more passes (something one might consider instrumental in our success and style) than Iniesta and the only person in La Liga with more passes completed is the God Xavi.

1360 good passes
1623 total passes
84% pass rate

Of course Iniesta offers better passing percentage (4%) I'm only putting some perspective into your GTFO you nasty dirty cunt curses!!!

In attack and buildup only Xavi has more influence than Dani Alves to open up space for Messi. For examples of that see the Real Sociedad goal he created with 3 one-two passes to Messi. Primarily he is a back don't forget, and his job is keeping forwards at bay. He does a fantastic job of sprinting back to position and hounding attackers out of the zone (when he's not up front providing the 3rd best assist tally in La Liga of course). *cough* 7 *cough*.

In big games, Dani Alves is the guy doing the most running and pressing of any Barca player. That in itself is important and goals/assists ratio won't make a difference at that level.

Maybe we have differing opinions about Dani, but I know we share club first opinions. My only hope is that our fans understand that we do not always know the full disclosure of events that transpire, so it's best to keep calm instead of blow our fuse and disparage our players. Especially ones as important to our tiki taka as Dani Alves. I do think the club and our fans will move on if he decides to leave, but let's keep it together and let our organization know it has our full support.

I think we all agree that Dani Alves is a wonderful player, it's just the fact that he's acting like a moneywhore that makes people go 'GTFO'.

I never disagreed on any of this. What I said was, his endproduct(crosses/assists) are way too bad in important matches. If you read again you'll see that this was exactly what I said. I want statistics for this aswell :D

Good post Peter. People get too emotional and throw words like "betrayal", "idiot" and what not. He won everything here and why would't he take an opportunity to make ridiculous money if he there are idiots that are prepared to pay. It's one thing to talk about it and completely another to be in his shoes.
I'm sure though that the club and Dani will reach an agreement.
