Daniel Alves

I actually think he was one of the best on the field (says something about the performance of the rest of the team...)

The guy I missed on the field was not Montoya though. I missed Adriano. If he could play, at least we'd have some attempts on target.

Thought they should've been crossing in even more balls from both the left & right even earlier in the match - it was the one aspect of Celtic's defense that didn't seem prepared for it owing to the lack of height from Barcelona...Yet, not one run into the box from that right flank on the night

I think he did well enough, considering it is only his second game since his injury. He had the right ideas going forward, he held his flank to best of his current ability and constantly tried to hustle the Celtic's left side and create space.

Needless to say, he did have a few occasional brain farts with sending his crosses well over the zone and a few misplaced crosses flying out of bounds. But in overall, he did ok.

i've always liked dani's crosses. because all the players are so short he has t put extra pace to his crosses. he whips them in thats every strikers dream, especially when they are so short. he messes sometimes up, but its 100000000% better than to put the 'easy' ball in, with slow pace, ballooons, easy for goalkeepers and defenders. dani knows what he is doing. i thin he is the second best assister behind leo under pep/tito. that tells A LOT.

@jaguar. come on, you have messi on your avatar, you know messi has scored most goals thanks to dani's assists, not xavi or iniesta??? not all of them are crosses but a lot of them are which is especially great concidering how small messi actually is.

They are good when they come off, but when he miscalculates them, they are pretty ugly.

Are you all kidding, He was sub par that night and one of the worst on the pitch along with iniesta, He continually failed to assist pedro on the right side, He was slow and didn't create any runs to divert the attention away from pedro, or placed him self in good position for pedro to pass to him, And he made some horrible crosses, It was obvious he was very much away from his best physical condition due to those continuous injuries, I hope he gets back soon

Alves: "Team attacks more via left wing this season? Because I'm not as good! When I'm again in my best form, things will be more balanced."

Alves: "I'm not happy with my performances so far this season. The main thing is to get back at my best physically, the rest will follow."

He knows. That's what I wanted to hear.

This. Most of the assists to Messi's goals come from Alves's crosses.

I'm not saying that he is playing particularly well now, but it is absurd to say that Alves was never a good crosser.
