Daniel Alves

 I have only seen about 20 minutes of the second half so far, but every time the ball was passed to Alves, I was all "Oh no, no, NO, don't cross, man, don't do it, not again, please no- AAAAAAAARGGGHH!!"

Even the English commentator was lamenting Alves and his crosses haha

This guy is the primary reason why I feel like our recent managers are tactically clueless.

Why doesn't someone tell him to stop crossing? It's so obvious and so ineffective. Yet he still does it a million times a game. Even the commentators were laughing at him.

It's like hearing a broken record on repeat. Our midfield always looks for an outlet pass. 7/10 times Dani is the main receiver of the pass and he just runs forward and crosses the ball. By far the most ineffective and useless play in football today.

Christ.

Sir Cross Alot is beyond useless nowadays. He is just a big liability. He was always mediocre at best in defense, but more than made it up with his excellent drive in offense.
But nowadays the only thing he does up front is doing one cross into nowhere after another, or just lose the ball in most stupid situtations.

No wonder no one wanted to buy him from us this summer.

Yup..I've been so frustrated with Alves, I can't seem to do anything but come rant on the forum

He is a joke in defence, cannot seem to beat ANYONE in offence (not even Maxwell 1v1), just keeps crossing or passing the ball back (which he also messes up often)...People saying name me a better RB..Uhmm how about any RB in pretty much any team? Look at all the good European teams out there, they have marauding RBs who aren't as good as Alves used to be, but are all sure as hell better than Alves is now, attacking as well as defending..So really I think the 'there is nobody better' argument is just preposterous.

I was feeling sleepy as the match was late night and i kid you not whenever Alves got the ball my brain automatically took a short nap of 10 seconds as it automatically knew what would happen after that and it calculated the time after which we will regain possession.

Where are the Tata naysayers again? Montoya gets one game a month and is labelled shit after that. Alves does nothing after every match and ppl still defend him. The bias on this forum is unbelievable.

When even English commentators mock you you know you are beyond shit

His defense is anonymous like pedro's attack. What a great pair. No wonder we have problems on wings. And if alba also has a bad game then the game is over. Our full backs are as bad as real madrid.

Kids, Dani has assisted two goals in last two games !

That's the bloody problem. Normally he has like 45632949 crosses per game and then one works :alveshat: The question needs to be what could happen if we change our strategy.

It is more effective when the full backs are running in behind like the Messi header against Granada.

Alba has much more defensive awareness than Alves. He actually was conservative about his runs as he knew that Lucas was just going to destroy us on the counter which he nearly did.

It's kinda sad that this team desperately needs Dani at the moment considering how much of a liability he can be these days.

Can we all send latters to his house say 'please cross it low , yours sincerely barcaforum.'

If he drilled it low across the box it could take a lucky deflection or someone might get on the end of it, we dob't have Ibra anymore. Seriously wish we had peter crouch at times

Cesc had the best stats in his time at barca

/lawyered

And who sais Cesc is bad? He is running the show in England if you haven't notice. I find it funny that we're starting to realise we have to chance the system after we sold a player who would've worked great in a different system. Oh, the irony of that...

Cesc fit our system perfectly. He just declined massively after January. In fact, we haven't even reached January yet, so he very well could decline at Chelsea for the second part of his debut season as well.

He gave an interview to O Globo, affirming he's going to the epl next season. So next season it's Montoya and Douglas.
