Daniel Alves

Let's not kid ourselves, the board alienated dani probably because they didn't want to offer him as much money as he wanted, now that he found a good deal he said fu to the board and left, that's it.

He is on 200k a week which is probably more than his performances this season have merited on the whole and I am saying that as a huge Alves fan who has stuck up for him for years.

Would guess him moving, if true, is down to the fact he is being offered a three year contract at a big club. Something he wont get at Barca.

Thank God we have you to advise him then

Well, I did say Alves is not finished when most said he was, and that Montoya is nothing more than an average RB who would play for an average La Liga side (now he's no longer better than Alves, and plays for Betis). I tend to be right on this forum as far as Barca RBs are concerned, now that you mention it.

Still repeating what you said 3 years ago? And this is not about you versus the forum but about your opinion's validity and credibility compared to Lucho's. As far as I'm concerned, Lucho has never put much trust in Montoya, has he? Pretty much contradicts your argument.

He does put trust in Aleix Vidal though, since he wanted him... Let's see how much of an Alves succesor he is.

By far my favorite Brazilian, but we have to let him go...most of the season he was in hot-cold mode. We need more consistent player on that side.
He would be good bench option though, but I doubt he would settle with that. Ah crap...glorious generation is slowly falling apart. :(

I agree he was really inconsistent this season and at times looked like a bad decision to give him that large contract last summer.

Dont think this is all that bad a thing. It happens now or next summer and the potential is he starts to decline more next season and still on big contract.

Actually think he is making the correct decision for himself if as rumoured it is a three year deal at Juve.

Goodbye

The thing is, the RB market is shit right now. Current Alves is not his prime self but even now he's arguably still the best RB in the world. There simply aren't that many good RBs atm, let alone good RBs available on the market. I could probably count the world class RBs on one hand.

Was probably the best right back ever in his prime. But fair game, he gets to try something new and the club gets a lot more room in it's wage budget.
