He shouldn't be playing 90mins and it's only his 2nd match in months.

Pretty sure he'll help us short term.

39-year-old Alves ain't it. We need athletic fullbacks able to overlap. Still, should be able to do his job this season, help this team get into top 4, but we need to be back at the market in summer. And I'm not counting on Dest - it seems Xavi has given up on him. Mingueza too. When is Roberto back? I'm pretty sure he will be starting for this team at RB again

We kinda need to buy two right backs, lol.

Dest should be counted on this season depending on opponents tbh.
Giving up on him right now when only half viable option is Alves is terrible idea.
Dani is legend, but father time is undefeated, and his position isn't easy to cover his speed

His legs are not there even if has some nice moments on the ball.

Looks every inch his age.

Another old pair of legs added to a team suffering from too many already.

Exactly.

Teams can getaway with one with old legs but not multiple.too much to cover.

Chelsea has Thiago, City Fernandinho, Liverpool Milner. They don't have list of players who are past it's playing for them, especially same time on the field. Unless they have to because injuries.

Nothing wrong with one pair of older legs, if they provide other good things!! More than one and it gets tough though.

Don't think he was that bad.

If I'd have to choose between Alves, Busi and Pique to start it's Dani for me every day.

Mazraoui and Azpi are both available on free if we're smart and will move fast.

But it's more likely Alves and Roberto will be our RBs next season.

This are bit underwhelming options btw.
Mazraoui is solid, but he is just that. Nothing special and no big potential there at all. Dest has higher ceiling than him but we gave up on his development anyway.
Azpi is a stop gap.

Azpi isn't even a RB these days and Chelsea fans hate him there compared with the regular choice
He's like a late Piszczek type guy, could do the job in a Spurs kind team playing 3 CBs

He could do a decent enough job as a back up RB for us, certainly better than the likes of Roberto and Mingueza. Mazraoui would be first choice in my eyes anyway and is the bigger priority to get, if we were to get only one of the two and if we're selling Dest. Plus with Xavi often shifting to a 3 at the back formation, Azpi would obviously be beneficial there too.

The class of this guy at 38 closing 39 is better than Dest, Semedo and Roberto combined. Shame age catches up, because all he's missing is pace.

Can't remember him being close to their penalty box. All our danger came from Alba and Dembele's side.

Did look a bit better in defence when Gavi and Abde were covering for Alves. But Alves was far from Vini yesterday. Couldn't even win an aerial duel against him.

Probably too afraid to move forward because Vini.

He looked quite decent on the ball, hasn't lost his technique, or understanding for the game.

That said, nobody can fight father time, he has lost acceleration and pace, and if he is to be a starter, sacrifices has to be made.
