RFEF rules say the normal one-game suspension for a non-dangerous foul must be increased by a game if there was no intention to win the ball.

Alves had no chance of winning the ball when making the challenge. No way it will get reduced to one game.

Bitter for Alves as he'll miss the next 3 Barca games after having waited so long for his comeback.

I liked his game today. Not as influential in attack but still good on the ball and looked solid defensively.

I thought he was our worst player with Ferran. Our game was too slow from the back largely in part to Alves not being able to advance from fullback compared to Dest/Alba in previous games.

But if we're passing the ball fast and advancing as a block (we weren't today) then he will still have usage.

Tactics were different though as Adama stayed high and wide so Alves was tucking in more rather than pushing up on the outside.

I would prefer to see this with Dembele instead of Adama although I do rate Adama still

Yes, thoroughly enjoyed that one bit of passing action. It had Alves in the middle, with pedri and I think Araujo assisting. Brilliant, vintage Barca style
