He was a horror show yesterday. Especially as he has to take significant part of the blame for both Juve goals.

pretty much the worst performance I can remember from him. Very rare to see a bad match by Alaba, but he was comfortably the worst player on the pitch in that game yesterday

There isn't much between Alaba, Marcelo and Alba at LB. About the same quality. Alaba is more valuable because he is younger. They take turns being the best depending on form I think.

Just saw a rerun of the match. What an absolute shocker he had
If Alba had a performance THAT bad, he'd be crucified here.

That's not nearly as shocking as the result. 2-1 vs Malta? Cmon Austria, you were my underdog-pick this Euro, don't let me down ffs

This GK had zero positional awareness tbf,Alaba should have looked but the GK was moving way from the goal

Goalkeepers do that to minimize the risk. If you get a pass there, usually no back pass can go in, no matter if the pitch or the pass is bad, the gk fails to control the ball etc.
In this case the keeper should have never passed to Alaba in the first place. Then both did what they are accustomed to. The keeper to make himself available besides the goal and Alaba to think he has Neuer behind him who is able to control any ball in any situation.
