David De Gea

Most United fans believed in him and never slated him, it was the press and opposition fans that slated him and he did carry out some silly mistakes when he was new but most United fans knew he was going to be special

Yeah fans could see the talent he almost never got shit from us - at least i didn't see any of it - especially when the media started with its hypocrisy of him and hart that was worse than anything about him being a flop it was purely about nationality. This last couple of years has been great while it lasted watching the same fucks rationalizing it with hes Madrid bound anyway. Alas. Looks like hes staying the year at least.

Romero is shit...He's signed as our number 2(not good enough even for that)

Can't comment much about him since I only saw him in the WC and Copa, but he was mostly solid for the Argies. Obviously a step down from DDG, but then again, who isn't that's available? The club is still reeling from the cheapskate approach of the late Fergie years, should've handed DDG an extension before the 12-13 season was over tbh. De Gea will probably still move to Madrid but at least they'll be forced to pay for him, although I do believe the Ramos deal is a great tactical move by United to give RM a taste of their own medicine and kind of even up the playing field a bit.

Tbh you should sell DDG to Barca in January just to mess with Flo

Most people who've watched him regularly are surprised that we've signed him but it's risk free considering there is no fee involved and he's on low wages..I didn't rate Valdes too highly either but he's a lot better than Romero....Romero doesn't excel at anything and is a journeyman goalkeeper who's lucky that there aren't any great goalkeepers from Argentina...

Is it impossible to have a discussion on here without people slagging off the Premier League? It's why I stopped posting in here in the first place. The Premier league is obviously a high level league and everybody knows that (at least anybody able to discuss objectively), just like La Liga is. But yeah, he probably just looks good because there are no good attacking players in the Premier League, eh?

You crack on, I'm logging off for a couple of years again.

Sorry i missed your post ,

first there is no need to overreact or leave , my opinion is based on facts and the facts say you are a lot weaker than before... look at the results in Europe as a comparison.. most of your teams can't make it past the group stages and your current best team is barely top 5 in Europe so when i say the EPL is not all that it's due to the weak competition & rivals you have in the EPL... it may seem competitive due to the big teams falling behind Europe elite & becoming closer to the rest of the rivals .. but you look in Europe & say where is City ? Liverpool ? United ? Arsenal ?quite happy to just come & get knocked even to my hometown team last year... Monaco isn't even a top 4 in Ligue 1 and you are upset that i say the EPL isn't all that ? it's the current state of affairs in the EPL..you were top several years ago now you are not so excuse me if i don't feel that secured getting the DDG with all respect & i do hope naturally that i'm wrong

I'm all for busting PL myths and all that, but how could you make a case like that against De Gea? He's a goalkeeper.

It's worth noting that he was impressive at Atletico too.

Probably why i don't rate him ... he was never impressive with Atletico Madrid at all ... i always felt he is goofy ... granted he improved but let's see if he can replace Iker who last 1-2 seasons wasn't that great but people will compare him to the best of Iker not the worst of Iker ..

You're not thinking logically, he'll still be registered as United player and therefore signing a pre contract with Madrid 6 months prior pretty much means nothing.

Also, you an unmotivated De Gea? It's Euro 16 next year, he'll want to be Spain's número uno for that and thus he'll need to be in top form and will be sufficiently motivated.

You talk of Casillas like he's 24 again, you mention him winning the CL last season when he managed a cock up of incredible proportions only to be bailed out by Ramos (who you'll no doubt turn on soon enough if he leaves, if you haven't already done so) and ADM. Then you mention he got to the SF this season, and again I put your departure from the tournament down to him as a better keeper should have saved that shot. De Gea sure as hell would have. And for 'almost' winning La Liga, I mean seriously, was that even worth typing?

Where did i talk about Iker as being 24 ? you missed the debate where i said Iker was really off last season ?

I can't help but think we should try to get De Gea on a free next summer and make Madrid's plans crumble. I love Bravo and think he's level with De Gea now and Ter has got potential but we shouldn't pass on the opportunity to make them look like complete buffoons and get a potential goalie for decades to come at the cost of a decent signing on fee and wages.

Knowing how we roll .. we probably have a pre-contract signed and De Gea agent is Jorge Mendes.. and we are his biggest clients ... i don't see you ever pulling such a thing even if you try as hard as you get.. beside the fact that the non-aggression agreement is still operational

I never rated Romero but Valdes can sure do a lot more than he showed.. think it's a character issue with LVG like Di Maria more than talent...

Dropped for tomorrows opener vs Spurs due to a lack of focus apparently.

Or an impending transfer to Real? Hope this gets resolved soon ffs.

So ungrateful towards Atletico and especially United. David de Gea is not a man, more a spineless weakminded fool who is totally whipped.

It's a poor decision from Van Gaal, even with all the distraction he's miles ahead of our other options. I hope we go with Jhonstone instead of playing other duds we have.

Yeah he's gone, it's the right decision if he not focused. He was poor against PSG.

He shouldn't be training with the first team squad any more if he's of no use to us.

He didn't look miles ahead in pre-season though, he looked like his mind was elsewhere. And I agree, he's been very ungrateful for you lot and Atletico.

No respect for these type of players. No matter what you should give the best for the current club.

Gimme a break. Only because he wants to join Real.

Mascherano did worse when trying to force his move to us. I bet you respect him...

I'm like your stalker at the minute liking all your posts, but again I agree with this. Daft not to play DDG tomorrow because even at 50% he's still our best 'keeper. That said, I'd love to see Johnstone play now we know De Gea won't, he's looked the real deal preseason and had a very good loan last time around. Won't happen though with Romero being LVG's new toy who he seems to really like for some reason.
