I cant express how much I want him to stay, I really expect the big guys in management get their heads straight and get him to stay with us. yes he is Older than all our forwards, but he is 30 not 59 and best performer after Messi in front line with least minutes. He always takes our game up a notch, we would definitely look better against Madrid had he started for us. He always keeps his calm in big occasions and delivers when we need him to. IMO you cant easily afford to lose such a player and you shouldn't. Loved how Camp Nou kept chanting his name and then the standing ovation when he was getting off the pitch, couldn't be more well deserved.

Deserves respect and a lot of latitude...but I don't think he's going to get the minutes he will want when he knows he can play more elsewhere...Plus, it's fashionable to play in the Premiership now for Spanish players...If he picks up another CL trophy then he's bound to boost his legendary status, play more, get paid and adored all the more

I don't think he'll be here next season

Sanchez played well, but imo Pedro should have been the one who got subbed off for him, not Villa.

Hope management give him more playing time. Don't see a reason for him to leave if he gets it.

Pedro and Sanchez helped running around and pressing and helping greatly in defense. We needed the stamina and workrate to see out the final minutes without conceding.

I think Pedro for Sanchez and then Villa for Adriano would have done the job (perhaps also getting another goal in the process). But I see your point. And we weren't really less dangerous after Villa came off IMO, except when we did a little bus-parking in the last few mins.

Villa's presence alone was a big part of winning that game, figure out why.

Funny how that isn't a valid argument when it comes to Pedro and Alexis... Granted Villa is better than both of them at occupying space between CBs and definitely better at finishing...

I'm not trying to start a debate about Villa's impact on the game over other players because almost all of us can agree he is vital to the team and deserves to be played frequently, however people tend to quantify players performances, so when there's a goal or assist said performances get a bit exaggerated...

I think playing Villa up front of Messi made the defense also fear his forward pass not just him dribbling thru them. Messi likes to carry the ball and play it to a teamate only to get a one touch back after beating a defender with his movement off the ball and striking the ball or dribbling to goal. Without Villa up top both the midfielders and the defenders need only attack Messi and Messi is limited to passes out wide to ineffective wings or drop passes. These 2 Milan games exposes how dismal our tactics have been without Villa playing up top.

Good point however I would argue that people are arguing that in Villas favour and not Pedro/Sanchez because in the case of the 2 latter players mentioned it is pretty much all they have provide this season, Villa on the other hand has kept a very solid goal per 90 minute ratio which the others have not.

I love El Guaje!
He was injured not crippled. Villa is a brilliant striker and I hope we keep him.

We can replace Alexis with Pedro, Tello, Cuenca, Deulofeu but what Villa does for Messi's game is irreplaceable.
