What's with the tendency to burn all bridges with anyone who leaves the club? Such a hostile attitude towards a man who's done a lot for us. He's not a 'legend' or anything like that, but why act like just because he's anything less than legend status, he should be ridiculed for anything and everything. And I highly disagree with the part where you act like everyone defending him is suddenly a 'Villa fanboy'. If anything you're acting like a hater just because he left and is now no longer directly associated with the club, as if that is the criteria to bash on him and ridicule any action that doesn't scream Barca-loyalty.

3 seasons with us, one on the bench and another one mostly injured. 48 goals, I believe he had a similar number for Sporing Gijon and Zaragoza. He had one great season with us. He will never be a club legend and, his time with us was a small portion of his long and illustrious career so for me a lack of celebration would have been cringe worthy.

As for the booking incident, Spanish Internationals have been doing that to one and other for years so I don't see why Villa should be an exception.
