David Villa

It's clear to me that he maintains strong friendships with his ex teammates.

But something wasnt right about his relationship with Tito. Because Tito clearly preferred Alexis and PEDRO over Villa even during moments when their form was worse than Villa's. Villa coming off the bench playing for 10 minutes would do more than Pedro in 90. And this was throughout the whole season. There was something there that was going on that we don't know.

If Tata had arrived earlier, part if me feels that Villa would still be here but it is just speculation.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
Don't have a problem with what he did. And his goal was nice, just too bad it was against us. He deserves to be playing where he can be back to his best.

Clearly our players after the game didn't have any issue with him so why should we?

Well said...

And it's not like Villa owes himself to Barca, lots of players celebrate goals against their former teams, it's just normal, the rare cases where a player doesn't celebrate are the exception, not the rule... It's likely that Villa holds Sporting, Zaragoza and even Valencia closer to his heart than Barca, and there's nothing wrong with that...

I have to agree that Villa was not mistreated by the club as whole but by Tito. I dont think anyone in the club would interfere in the coaching decisions and would not be surprise if some of the managment was also baffled by Villa's benching despite his high goal production last season.

?????? You´re in the wrong forum.
Just hope for a massive victory on the 2nd leg over those scumbags of Atletico. Then i wanna see Villa smile. And you...

Yeah, and obviously he can do just about anything when you have Barca fans celebrating him even when he scores vs. us.

I don't think there's more to be said.

You are all acting like a bunch of immature babies, straight up.

I love Barcelona with just as much passion as the rest of you. But I also don't take it so seriously to the extent that I can't remove myself from the whole thing and have some plain ol humanity. I've personally loved David Villa for years now. He has been one of my favorite Barca players, he is one of the best Spanish strikers in history, he got shafted by our club last year and was forced to leave. Then, he scores an absolute beauty of a goal against us. If it was a shitty tap in I wouldn't have, but it was pretty epic, and it was David Villa.

I'm not going to be so blinded by Barca fanboy blinders that I won't feel happy for a player, a person (who has gone through a lot in recent times, mind you, breaking his leg for us and all), who scores an amazing goal, simply because I am a Barcelona fan. Yea, of course the rest of the game I was rooting like hell for us to score and comeback for the win, but that doesn't mean I can't be a sane adult enough to respect an amazing goal from an amazing player who gave us Barca and Spain fans so much over the years. I actually have the capacity to separate my love for a player from my love for the team, because as much of a huge fan as I am, I don't take FC Barcelona and the game of football THAT seriously.

God damn. And the whole "oh him celebrating is so disrespectful thing" is just utterly sad. The way people here through Thiago under the bus is just as bad. Honestly guys. Get real.

Yeah, it's much easier to abuse the players we still have at the club at every given opportunity, right?
You know damn well no one here actually hates any of our players. We just criticise (not ''abuse'') them because we want them to perform better. Do you really think I hate Sanchez or Cesc?

On the other hand, pretty much everyone that leaves the club is instantly hated by the majority on this board.

Not really. We like etoo, yaya, Keita, Abidal.

I'll admit when I dislike a player for leaving its just a heat of the moment reaction. But these guys usually did some perceived wrong to make the fans dislike them.

I do belive that some of you hate Cesc and Sanchez. There was someone that said that Cesc has been shit, when he hasn't etc..

I might be wrong but didn´t Villa say once that he would never celebrate a Goal against a former Club?

Well how many players kissed the batch of their club and then when they saw the $$$ they didn't hesitate for one second. I know this isn't the best example but it shows that we can't hang on the stuff that people and especially footballers say in the past.
