Deco

Wonder what sort of budget he has to work with though. Last Summer Darvich and Faye were astute B signings.

This year there has been nothing which is more alarming then Deco's perceived issue to close deals (which may also be a problem).

But look at those he missed out on since officially signing.

-Bergvall: Had improved offer which we were not willing to match. In Spuds first team setup for the pre and looking good.
-Guler: Only had the resources to sign him a season later. At Madrid and has legit top tier potential.
-Mokio: Improved offer from Ajax which we weren't willing to match. Jury still out.
-Estevao: Big offer from Chelsea. We pulled out early because partly no funds and partly Lamine emergance.

So his talent eye was top. And about Roque, I am not even sure that was all on Deco as the interest pre-exists Deco.

If our finances were not sketchy then all of Bergvall, Guler and Mokio would have likely been closed. Especially Burger and Moky as both of those did not move to Ajax and Spurs for incredible sums.

As for this Summer. If the board are fixated on Olmo y Nico and nothing else until those two failed. Then not much Deco can do other than to chat, eat prawns and chat some more.

Failed to sign Arda Guler
Failed to sign Bergvall (Spurs)
Failed to sign Nico Williams
Will probably sign Olmo

Deco shouldn’t be allowed to tie Alemany’s shoelaces

Not that Deco has been great but Alemany also had all the lever money and a lot more freedom than now.

Barca currently are paying 50m for a 36yr old on 32m a season due to Alemany transfers.

Alemany was much more of the financial side than persuading players to sign anyway.

The only one that Deco should have pulled off was Bergvall financially. But then the reports were that Burger changed his mind when Xavi announced leaving.

Can't do much if that's true and Xavi goes bipolar.

We are about to pay 60M for Olmo, don’t seem broke just the wrong priorities.

Nico Williams they assured him they could pay the clause AND register him but chose to stay in Bilbao. Thats on Deco who should be the one to convince the player of Barca’s project

TBF, if he chooses to stay not much deco can do.

Haaland told city to wait one year, these things happen a lot.

His job is to identify weaknesses in the squad and try to fill them.

Pretty sure this Olmo deal will be structured where the transfer fee will be paid in small installments over time.

Nico would have to be paid in full.

Deco spent 100 mio on Roque and Olmo. He had the money to get players that we need, he just chose not to because he's an amateur like everybody at this club.

@BarcaSpaces

- Arda Guler
- Lucas Bergvall
- Estevao Willian
- Jorthy Mokio
- Jaden Philogene
- Amadou Onana
- Nico Williams

Questions have to be asked of Deco’s inability to close deals. Questions have to be asked of Deco’s insistence on Dani Olmo. Questions questions

PS: No wonder this is the outcome of a guy who was hired because he was buddy of the right people

It's always excuses for Deco while in all this time he only bought Olmo and created the shitshow situation with Roque while losing out on numerous talented kids for a lost less money. Horrible sporting director just as expected, an amateur, an Abidal.

That is not a huge issue as the club would take a loan out for Nico if needed to in that case.

The FFP hit would be the same.
