I think it is actually nice for Pep.
You have Puyol and Piqué as the main CB's. Dima can slowly take the position of Puyol (not the captain shizzle, just on the pitch) while the latter can still play Champions League games. Next year Skiy Sports will be totally looking like he has been for ages in Barcelona due to the amount he will play in La Liga (and also because of his superb performances, look at Dani, it looks like he has been in Camp Nou for ages) so that he can replace Puyol gradually in the great games.

Awesome, no. Unspectacular and solid would be a fair description, he certainly didn't look out of place though his "out ball" needs a bit of work that will come with more training and match time and he had no dramas to speak of. :chyg:

Marquez bench Pique? Haha no chance of that. Pique is better in every category except for perhaps long passing and free kicks. Pique is a vital defender not only because of his quality but his stature.
I definitely enjoy how Chygy is comfortable with the ball and able to create from the back, Easily one of the few centre backs who could fit into the Barca system, I think the only thing we can be disappointed about with Chygy is that he won't be playing with us in the Champions League.

that just made my day. There is no chance Marquez can replace pique or chygrynskiy. Marquez is good at long passing, but I think Chygrynskiy gots that one down already. Maybe Marquez is good for free kicks but that is it. Pique and Chygrynskiy are better at the most important parts about being a defender for Barca.

Let's not shit all over Rafa here, he's still a great defender. Fairly regular "clueless brainfart" moments though, and is getting on in years. But he's still a classy, talented and experienced CB who gives his all and will be really important to us, particularly in the CL. But I hope Txigo continues in this way, as you've said, he's a CB who's really well fitting to our system, how rare is that. Great stubbornness from Pep for signing him.
